NO problem, glad to help, the elm pump definitely goes inside the well, mine rubbed the top of the well as it went down and backwards and also cuts in the side of the mast partner very slightly, you have already cut the octaganol holes ready for the tops so they will slant a little more but should still fit, I placed pins down by the keel as per ed's naiad and had no choice where they came out Regards Paul

I think the elm tree pumps angle backwards and inwards slightly as they go downwards to end behind the mast step and inbetween the step and main pumps at the side of the keel The elm pumps aren't shown on the first profile picture you posted, that I can see Hope that helps Regards Paul

I have realised that I am following the boat plans from the aots Diana the wrong way round, the first one I did in the background above will now become a rigged display model, the 24ft launch should be a two masted affair and clinker built planking, so I will have to redo that one and make the 26ft cutter with anchor winch at the back All from mahogany so they match the syrius which will look better in the long run anyway I really envy how all you people show such beautiful clean pictures, that last picture of mine looks awful with all the cr** in the background Regards Paul

Hi Rob Those small ports you have mentioned on the counter i don't think are gunports but are for access to the rudder, I am using the Diana book for my Sirius build as well as I only have the nmm plans to work from and the Diana is a very similar ship/time frame, they wouldn't have been able to get a gun back there, ,look at my transom framing and you can see there wasn't much access, hope that helps Regards Paul

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
