Hi Chris You can also try putting the flat face of the joint in a vice and use the jaws to ensure you get a perfect flat face to join together, Daves did a how to in one of his logs a couple of years ago using tape, a vice and chisel, done correctly they always come out perfectly, search scarph and daves from the lumberyard Regards Paul
  2. Hi john Yes unfortunately we have to pay customs charges on anything over £15 coming in from the states at the post office, I got stung on all my orders from syren £25 on the last order but the quality of chucks items makes up for it

  6. that will work, i would fit the wing transom to strengthen the back end first and then sand, but it doesn't matter which way you do it regards Paul
  7. Proxxon bs/e mini belt sander is the easiest thing to use inside i found, just need to be very careful and work with the frames regards paul
  8. I think you might have fitted the stocks upside down as well, looks like in the picture the angled side should be on the bottom Regards Paul

It appears that the stops are for the guns maybe instead of the waterway which the front wheels would normally run up to, to stop the gun running into the bulwark The stops you pointed to for the gun ports would presumably be the same thickness as the ports, so looks smooth from the outside Regards Paul

  13. I have done a little work on the transom taffrell and counter, awful picture below, first time using surface tablet as a camera, doesn't compare to the phone 20 megapixel camera

  16. The red ensign as on all royal navy ships, with artistic license you could use the White ensign if you wished but usually it would be the red, flown at the rear of the ship Regards Paul
