  1. Thanks mark and Druxey, I have already done the curse and repeat a few times, the last version I did with card and still got the wrong angle and I'm struggling with the angle for the last window that goes against the hull, anyway onto the next version Regards Paul
  2. Struggling with the gallery windows, getting the geometry right is proving to be extremely difficult, many discarded versions can be seen below Added a few quarterdeck beams, amazing how it starts to look more like a boat when you add some bits Thanks for all the likes guys Regards Paul
  3. Hi Michael Nice work on the limber boards look very realistic Nice job Regards Paul
  4. Catheads made from some ebony, milled joints with some boxwood strip to show the join and the three slots for the sheaves
  5. Hi John Nice work on the planking, apparently it is called joggling and there were two shipwrights rules regarding this 1. The square end of the joggled plank must be half the width of the plank 2. A plank must be joggled when the snipe is more than twice the width of the plank, the snipe being the diagonal cut across the width of the plank made to fit it into an angle hope you didn't get to stung on the customs charges Regards Paul
  6. Lovely work, I thought that was a real boat when I saw the first pictures of the deck above Regards Paul
  7. Very nice work Michael, don't forget the limber boards were only a couple of feet long with holes in so they could be lifted out to clear underneath not full length as you are showing currently Regards Paul
  8. Superglue the cut, hold for five minutes by the clock ha, then try and get your fingers apart Actually I think he meant hold for five minutes to stop bleeding, no glue lol Regards Paul
  9. Hi Siggi Just fantastic work as usual, I still want your leo cast off Regards Paul
  10. sorry mark it would have helped if I had put that in the post, they are from ebay and amazon, quite reasonably priced, they also do some ratchet models as well, very useful and have quite a reach. Wolfcraft 3633000 pointed spring clamp MT 70 regards Paul on my Sirius I actually did it like Greg suggests above at the bow and used these clamps along the sides, although I didn't have decks in the way at the time
  11. I fell for that one as well, became very expensive after importing regards paul
  12. Hi mark You could get some long clamps like this one that would reach from above with the clamps you have. also the ends come of those quick grip clamps that you have and you could slip them through the frames reattach the end inside and then close up to squeeze to the frames
  13. Presumably you could clamp against them as well when doing the planking etc, good thinking Regards Paul
  14. Great idea with the notched strips at the top to keep it all lined up chuck Nice work Regards Paul
  15. The life preservers of the time I believe we're not actually used on ships but on the land and thrown out to people in the sea during shipwrecks of the coast, there was recently a series on the BBC about shipwrecks and one of the episodes was on lifesavers that we're being invented at the time, they then moved onto the ships themselves when companies like Lloyds got involved and started setting up rules and regulations for all ships to protect life ( and insurance claims) Regards Paul
  16. I'm with mark on that one, weren't invented then I don't think and would be a later addition maybe Regards Paul
  17. Looking really good Mark, how did you make the windows on the galleries I must have missed that
  18. nice work on making the gratings cristi, don't forget the coamings that go around the outside though regards Paul
