I appreciate your words Hubacs and Oliver
Finished railing of the poop deck..
Drilled all holes for pins in the side railing..
Can I have a question about Ab Hoving?
I'm looking for information on other ties that are not on the plan. Can I use the inner railing as on other models?Or Pin Rail on the inside? What is historically more faithful? Thank you.

Hello,
A bit earlier than expected the news about the pinas-program is out. It will take another two weeks to implement the English texts. Until then I can give a short description of the program. The user can choose between three options: one is to see (interactively) how a Dutch ship (in this case the pinas) was built. In the second you can virtually walk through all compartments of the ship and recognize the various parts. In the third option, the encyclopedia, any part can be found with the description of the formula for that part and its measurements for this particular ship.
It sounds complicated, but it is very user-friendly and intuitive.
Especially for people like Amateur, who has obviously not much trust in Witsen, this program shows that this 'lay-man' was very well informed, by a shipbuilder he especially hired to help him describe the example ship he chose to tell the story of the Dutch method of shipbuilding.
I have worked about 40 years with the material from the book and though I often first thought that he gave wrong information, I always, with no exception, had to change what I did, because after all Witsen appeared to be right. The only problem was that his book is a total chaos. I cut the relevant pages into 1200 parts, relocated them until I had a plausible story and made my drawings. After three years I was able to use the drawings for a model, which took another 3 years. In 1994 I published the book I based on Witsen's work, followed by the English translation in 2012. Now, after almost 40 years the digital version is almost ready. I hope it will convince you of the thustworthiness of Witsen's data, like it convinced me. All I know I learned from Witsen.
Soon on your screen!
That's great news, Abe. I'm really looking forward to this tour. I envy Peter that he has already started the construction of the Vitsen pinas !! 💣💥

Hi!
Great work on the railing! How wide are the rails on the main deck in real? That is something I can never really figure out?
Rgds, Radek
Greetings and thank you Radek. I won't find out on the plan sheets, everyone shows a different dimension ...⁉️
I made a compromise, 7 mm wide, which is 42 cm in fact, which could be .. 🙄

Beautiful, clean work, as always, Ondras. It is a real pleasure to watch her come together.
Thank you very much Hubacs Historian, I am very pleased with the praise from a person with a sense for detail.
I created an upper mirror..
I draw the mooring places of the rigging in a low-quality plan. I used a plan from Ab Hoving's Zeehaen fluite..

Thank you very much Hubacs Historian.
I continue with the railing of the aft deck ..
The edges of the painted strips are fragile, I will have to retouch in one place..
Rounded railing parts ..
I tried the wax with which I will paint the moldings of Wales, if it does not destroy the paint with the varnish and it's great..

Very beautiful wooden line Hakan. I look forward to continuing. Ondras

Czech modeler Doris Obručová advised me to use an external matt spray topcoat. I tried matt Vallejo varnish ..
Tests outside the ship have shown the best way to pour a horizontal layer of paint ... Bingo
Then dry with a hair dryer and .. the surface is matte! Ship finally unpacked ..
I will not edit any more..💥 O.

I'm fighting green. The first did not cover at all ..
I had to use the darker one. At the same time, the front wall was redesigned..
The result is not so bad..
Retouches are still waiting for me and matte lacquer comes on top..🧐 O.

You can make your green lighter by painting over it with a very thin wash of white with a dab of yellow. A wash is basically a very diluted pint (i.e. 20 parts white spirit with 1 part paint).
Thank you Landrotten Highlander. I have already ordered a lighter green, after the adjustment the sides would not be the same. Ondras

Hello everyone,
So I’m an absolute novice with an airbrush, I have never owned one but am looking to buy one. I’m wondering if any one has some advise on how to get into airbrushes? The start up costs of a generator, cleaning material, and the airbrush seem a little steep for knowing little to nothing about it. I have paints, I typically use acrylic on wood, I’m not sure if that matters. I have found some stuff on using an airbrush and personally I think I’m pretty good with a regular can of spray paint so I’m looking more for suggestions on air brush systems that you would recommend for a total novice. Thanks!
Bradley
Greetings. I'm just starting an airbrush for a wooden model, I've studied model fibers, especially for plastic models, there's a lot of information.
The finding is that it suits everyone and everyone recommends something different, it is important to buy and try and try until you get used to it.
After a few experiments with acrylic paints, I am satisfied with the result, the brush never again ..
Good luck!! Ondras

Well-meaning criticism is appropriate, from a person with your experience, Ab is beneficial.
I know from the beginning that the plan of this ship is not good, the authors drew from more sources.
The pins in the side railing of Dutch ships can be seen in the pictures, I found a debate on the Czech forum and there the most detailed picture of a Dutch warship - EENDRACHT from 1655 by van de Velde, he has pins in the railing.
Another warship..
So the small possibility of placing them on warships was possible !?
The Dutch double deck according to the model in the book Der Hollandische Zweidecker von 1660-1670 by Heinrich Winter also has pins in the railing, here this model by Alexander Bielov..
I build the model as competitive, here the main consideration is the agreement with the plan, every change must be documented. So I'm looking for historical data..
