  1. Chris has a knack for producing kits I really really want😂😂👍 These coastal fishing vessels are very good looking boats!!
  2. Absolutely beautiful little fishing lugger!!
  3. After having a bit of a search through I came upon a post from @bruce d about the loss of Royal Navy small ship records/logs so maybe this is why I can't find barbicans service record. I shall continue with ex crew search though. Thanks
  4. So, bulkhead cutting is done, so are the keel formers, I did have to re-cut the mid and stern section as for some reason these printed fractionally smaller than the bow section, all sorted now. I checked them on the drawing for size. The formers have been glued but the bulkheads are just dry fitted to test, some need a bit of tweaking on the slots. Still got the filler pieces at the bow and the stern timbers to cut. I'm doing all these cuts before I do the stem and keel to get a bit more practice with the scroll saw. Thanks for looking in. Cheers 👍😀
  5. Sorry meant to say, her service record is what I'm really after. Cheers
  6. Yes, I got plenty on the Kangaroo, Karangi and Koala, there was quite a fair amount on Barleycorn, Baritone and Barcarole. I just struggled with Barbican as I only got the info already mentioned, plus where she was built and one picture. I'll have a look through his service record for ship mates as you suggested. Thankyou
  7. I agree that the boxwood would look amazing tapered and joggled but you got to get just right, whereas the laser etched deck is done. If it were me I'd go with the laser deck. Hope this helps!!
  8. To be honest I may or may not of let go on purpose, to see if he would go up!! For research purposes only of course 😉😁
  9. Just an enquiry wether anyone has any information on HMS Barbican between 1950-1958. It's home port was Rosyth and went to the Med at the time of the Suez crisis but the Egyptians closed the canal and so she stayed at Valletta. I know she was a coal burner and launched in 1939. Have searched the internet but very little comes up about Barbican, her sister ships are a bit better documented, but Barbican is the one my dad served on therefore any info gratefully appreciated. Cheers 👍😀
  10. Yep, I did that as a kid, great fun. I tried with one of those soldiers with a parachute that you got to throw up and they would float down, he was last seen stuck to the front of the lorry following us on the motorway 😕
  11. Loving the paint job Craig, really smart looking!!
  12. Yes, a quick re-read of the log mentions he is using pear, my mistake😕 Still looks really good though!
  13. Thanks Craig, I can get that from Amazon uk. Hopefully Dauntless parts should turn up in a week or so.👍😃
  14. Very nice planking, love the colour of your cherry. On the strength of that I think I may go the same way as I can get cherry boards easier than AYC
  15. Looks good Mark, it's been fun and very informative watching, thanks 😁
  16. And I've got this to come,🤔 I may, no, will be asking lots of questions 😉 Looking good though Craig
  17. I know exactly what you mean!!! And it's not just model kits, that's where my scroll saw came from, but I am limiting my viewing to once or twice maybe three times a week
  18. Yes don't just tease I was also looking at car models and bikes and ships and tanks and guns!!! I think that rabbit hole has just got bigger and sucked me in🤣🤣
