Yes it was camouflaged for fear of destruction in the yard - she was still under construction at the beginning of WWI - that was grey and grey, after that a light grey, and a dark grey version, and from late '42 until her refit in '44 a more colourful camouflage

I'll try to get you some camouflage pictures today of the KGV during the 1943 period from a book on British battleships and cruisers I've got (same series as the one on destroyers I showed in the RN H class log) and her initial camouflage, which wasn't a single grey with a green or blue rectangle

Who's that spinach-man talking to ...? Did anyone say camouflage could be colourless ... I like the yellow one at the bottom ... could be a desert ship ( in Dutch that's the alternative name for a Camel )

Thought it a wee bit silent on the "Barendrecht"-front. Sweden, that's a whole different ball game. Actually, I'm kind a jealous, having passed a long weekend in Stockholm last year, I got a taste for it. Hope you'll settle in soon and enjoy the work, and surroundings. Take care, I'll be waiting patiently. P.s. I took your advise to heart and ordered the Byrnes table saw, thanks for that

I like the way the PE makes the parts more realistic. When you look at the original parts, they are somewhat heavy, unrealistic

Take a logical, straight forward way. We, in our "modern" times, tend to over think, and make things unnecessary complex, whilst simplicity is often the key

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
