Well there is part of your answer. I would expect the keel to take shape from the fin towards the stern, where it supports the rudder. Which implies there won't be much of a keel. Although, the Open Boat covers skiffs, the keel part holds for 17th century warships too. There is hardly any - I would almost go so far as to state there is none, compared to the bulk of the ship - and what could be defined as keel is most prominent at the stern.

look in "the open boat" page 109 photo 9e. Does she have a fin you can lift? - pg 120 and further photo 11 b, c, & h or go to chapter 14 - pg 148. I've never seen Karoo, so it is more or less guessing from this side of the globe

Good choice, one of the IJN ships I have on my list. I like the pagoda like style of the superstructure from most of the IJN ships. Although this one doesn't have that. You seem to be well on your way

Mascotte has regular and King Size ... yes they do. You might want to have a look for King Size if you have to stick together a lot of regular paper to get to make an awning.

You don't want to get a frontal accident, as you shall end up with the engine in your lap, entry at the driver's side is quite definite as well. But why always be safe, living on the edge gives a nice kick ... Modern Citroëns, yes, but what has got that to do with these tin cans ... Don't get me wrong, I do love these ducks, my second car is an Austin Mini Van, a lot faster, and not much safer! Driving these cars really gives you the feeling you are driving!

Bob, that is why I don't use Vallejo airbush varnishes as I wrote in the beginning of this thread. On my ship builds I have restricted myself to Vallejo rattlecan varnishes, and AK airbrush varnish on the airplanes I've built. I've used the airbrush varnishes from vallejo after the first faillure only with a brush !!

Now I know why you like the Soup mix: Corn starch, Sugar, Maltodextrine, Corn Syrup, Caramel Color (which is actually burnt sugar) ... someone has a sweet tooth(!)
