We all have our crosses to bear my friend, wheather they be wood or plastic meand'ring groove evidence of life's burden -
"fiddly"!? You should be used to it by now ... Quite a lot of the fragile parts on that bridge

Keith, could be Lipton pyramid like bags. wefalk, That is some very fine detail on such a scale ... I wouldn't even consider it myself, very impressive, you seem to be master of miniature

Thanks for the likes and comments gents Mike, I have a roden kit which I used for spare parts as it really was deformed and had some parts not really fully formed. However, I do like the Eduard and Revell kits. The Eduard is just slightly bigger than the Revell, oodly enough, so I will have to take my measuring apparatus and find out which size is closer to the scale. The advantage of Eduard over Revell has to do with the PE you can get with some kits, or can order for certain kits. However, the PE for 1/72 is mostly restricted to the cockpit, and I find it rather expensive compared to what you get. Eduard has some BRASSIN additions for planes which are very nice, not very cheap, but you can improve your kit a lot. -
Spitfire Mk IXc - FINISHED - by cog - Eduard - 1/72 - PE & PLASTIC

Thanks Mike, it still is easier than the 1/48 with a lot more PE -
So is "Shattered Sword" but these latter two are quite a different genre Not in the others like Yamato and such?

Looks almost like a sub in the last photograph ... next build ... a German sub like Yves built ... Shading came out very well, even on the dark surface, you seem to be able to keep improving on yourself with every build (by the way, I loved Musashi from Eiji Yoshikawa, red it four times, do you have the book of five rings?)

I made mine almost the same, a bit lighter though, and bought a spinning centre for a lathe It seems I didn't put it back on in the jigs section after the crash on MSW 1.0. Thanks for showing, now I know how I can add a rest for the chisel

Thank you , Steven. Interesting context it has. Besides scuttlebud - or as Pat prefers water cooler - it can be "an erroneous or improbable story that is claimed to be factual". At first I only thought about the container, but you downundah have your way with words Sorry for derailing your thread ... yet again

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
