  1. That's what I thought too Bob! The real boat looks like I planked it 😂😂😂
  2. They are the P6's. Before that I had the P5's which were also amazing speakers. These are the only items of hi-fi that I've never wanted to change over the years. Just superb!!
  3. Hi all, I'm looking to purchase an airbrush (and possibly a compressor too) and I wanted some opinions on what's bad, good and great! I would be using it for a variety of things but mainly for modelling purposes (plastic & wood). Preferably, I want something that is good quality which would last a lifetime (bearing I'm 61 so my lifetime's not gonna be that long 😂😂😂)
  4. Absolutely Bob! 😄 My first wooden boat took a ridiculous amount of time because I wasn't really committed due to all sorts of things going on in my life at the time, but now I'm very happily married and I've got a spare room to do the build. Looking forward to starting it 🙂
  5. My word, just as I think I've seen the best, I click on a link and BOOM there's another one! Sensational and inspirational! So much to learn from you amazing shipwrights 😲 I wonder how these models look after a few years of sitting on a shelf? Care to tell Patrick? 🙂
  6. Happy 70th!! Have a great day 🙂

  7. That was fantastic Jim! Really was a pleasure to watch you do the build on that. So clean and precise, wow! I love fishing boats and may well add this one to my wishlist.
  8. OMG, I'm never going to get anything done due to keeping track of all these AMAZING builds on MSW. It makes me so excited to see all the great work done. Inspirational!
  9. This was my first taste of wooden boat kits and it took me forever to complete because I really struggled with “planking” and I kept losing interest in it, so I would often put it away in storage when it annoyed me. Yes, I was being a bit of a baby – constantly spitting out my dummy! 😂😂😂 Anyway, I finished it (of sorts) just before a divorce came along and in the melee, I lost some final detailing parts. No matter though – the St Roch had given me a good taste of what wooden boat kits were like. I now have a fondness for Billing Boats (despite their less than excellent instructions) and plan to build another in the future – probably the Mary Ann cutter. Before I get to the photos, I'd like to thank a couple of people who helped me scrape through this build : one was Jim (James H) from MSW who lives in the same village as me and helped me to get my head around my planking issues. Thanks Jim! The other guy is a Canadian resident called Ted Hamilton who went out of his way to help by travelling to the Vancouver Maritime Museum to take detail photos of the actual boat which is on display there. Thanks Tim! Okay, so I'll post the pix in a sec – don't laugh (too much) 😄
  10. Hey Patrick, that was an awesome build 😲 and I really enjoyed your Build Log. Would you buy another Billing Boats model?? Tom.
  11. What a joy it is to watch people work their magic. So entertaining and educational too. Can't wait to see the planking 🙂 Tom.
  12. Boy, I'm really enjoying these little beauts Mike! Excellent work. I love all things aviation and will surely purchase an aircraft model at some point. This all takes me back to my youth when I was a prolific (and very amateur) aircraft model builder. Tom.
  13. I've not even started this model yet, but I ordered some passengers for the boat and they arrived today for early embarkment 😄 A friend of mine is a really talented painter of miniature figures (mainly military), so I'm going to ask him for a demo of how to make these figures better.
  14. Pleased to say that my Haynes Owners Workshop Manual arrived today. There's an immense amount of data and detail in it and I look forward to reading it and referring to it should I decide to do this model for a third time 🙂 If anyone wants any close-ups from the book to assist a detailed build, let me know 🙂
  15. Well Mike, I've just finished looking through this build and enjoyed it very much. My cousin completely stripped and rebuilt one of these cars in his garage and that too was a joy to watch - there's much more to these vehicles than people think. Your model has come together really well and that scratch-built grille is infinitely better than the supplied one! Well done. I look forward to seeing how the Tamiya compares - especially with your recent experience and knowledge of this one. 👍 Tom.
