Regarding the window blemish, a lot of plastic modelers use Future floor finish on clear parts to cover scratches & make them more transparent. Might be worth a try. You could test it on a piece of extra acetate to see if it would work. Mark

update - finished up the poop deck by adding some bitts, a few timberheads, stern brackets, the skylight, & a bunch of eyebolts. I used liquid window maker for the skylight windows. Next, the bow railings & timberheads were installed. The cap rails, railings, & timberheads were all laser cut to shape and fit nicely - basically just had to assemble, paint them & glue them on & cut 4 short sections out for the last 4 cannons. Yep - those are exactly the same type of lifts we had in the shop I worked at. They are really quite safe as long as the pads on the lift arms were positioned correctly. We used to park cars like that whenever it was going to snow enough that the lot would need plowed - much easier to plow a half - full lot. Those lifts are hydraulic - each one has its own motor & pump. Mark

Thanks Bob - I think I would just as soon tie ratlines all day than rig guns. The blocks are 2.5mm from Syren - I just can`t work with anything smaller than that. Mark

Update - poop deck on & planked. The cap rails were added & the carronades were finally finished & set in place with all the rigging. The carronades are shown in the retracted position thus the lack of slack in the breech ropes. The railings will be added later - if not, I would surely knock them loose. Need to add a few more things & then on to the pointy end of the ship. Mark

Looking good! Just got my first shot today. One of my sons is married to a pharmacist, so she has been on the lookout for me. They had 35 doses at her pharmacy that had to be administered today or tomorrow or they would be spoiled, so I rushed in & got`er done. No ill effects. Mark

I use the gap filling CA from Bob Smith Industries also, but I use the use the odorless type with the gold label. It takes a few seconds longer to "grab", there is no odor or fumes that I can detect & is even safe for use with foam. Regular CA will melt foam. I went to that because the fumes from regular CA really bother me. The only drawback I find is that it`s a bit more expensive than standard CA. Mark

I am not a big fan of motorcycles (everyone I know that had one has either been hit by a car or run off the road by a car) ,but you have done a superb job building it👍. Mark

Yes,Frank - it is the binnacle. As Peter says, it probably should have a chimney in the hole,but would be near impossible to see once the poop deck is in place. The plans don`t show anything in the hole,but I may just stick a short piece of dowel in it. Mark

Looking good OC - what kind of glue are you using to attach the PE? The only thing I could get to work was CA gel - the really thick stuff. Mark

Hi - a little more progress. Upper deck guns & some of the deck furniture in place aft of the waist. The fore deck guns & furniture will be added after the caprails & poop deck are in place. The windows in the binnacle were done using the liquid window maker. Also, the wheel will not be rigged - it can`t be seen after the poop deck is in place. The 4 guns behind the bulkhead will not be rigged either, as it would be impossible to see without a flashlight. Mark

Try a Michaels craft store if there is one nearby - the one near me carries some thin sheets of plywood. I got a 12x24 piece of 1/64 birch plywood there. They had other sizes also. Mark
