Mobbsie, thank you very much. You are not bold but….the hole in the mast cap is round…a little difficult to make the top squire and put it in a round hole……..

Hoi Kimberly, I would say welcome to the wonderful world of MSW. Say something and you get all the advice that you need. Even when you are talking about a dump ship If MSW has a dictionary, that word will be removed ! I'm not into the plastic build but a ship with jolly in the mast, have my attention… I have build the Corsair ( wood ) and that one has also a jolly in the top of the mast. But i have to give you a warning…….all my ships are shooting cotton cannonballs and Augie is shooting paper cannonballs….. Good luck and a lot of fun with the build. ( next time please go build a wooden kit )

@ Larry, Thanks you But the finish line is far away… There is a lot to do before that's happening…. @ Patrick, Also that you That black came out eel. Between the top and mast cap , it's also gonna be black. @ Mick, I have also 3 of those cross beams… And I think that I'm also painting them black. I have to see…… @ Augie, Thank you very much ! It was tricky to get the mast squire, but I did it. 2 more masts to go this way……. @ Popeye, When I go like this, I'll be in no time back to ratlines But I have only one week before I go for my whole shift… No more part-time work anymore…. And I like it so much ! @ Dave, Thank you ! I have used a standard drill and it work When I did it out of the hand, I'm not getting them on one line….. @ Sam, Also that you very much ! And yes, I have more ratlines to do….. Maybe a little less then on the Le Mirage, but I don't mind. But first I have to make all the masts. And of course the bowsprit. So it takes some time before I got there. The joints for those tops are for , maybe, not slipping away and to drain the water. If I'm wrong, I know that somebody has the right answer.

Hey Nick, Oke, january then…… I shall ask it again in February And when you at the part of the masts, there are a few things that you have to know. When you've got there I will tell you that. But with your speed it can take a while Say Hi to your Admiral !

On a rainy friday I thought it was time to do something….. The holes in the tops are drilled and no, I don't used a drill hammer Then it was time to shape the top of the lower part of the mast. I have to make it squire and I don't have a lathe so I'll do it by hand using a file. I think it work just fine Of course pictures of it.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
