  1. Anders, something like the 'Guillemot' dinghy on the web page below should suit your purpose. http://nisboats.com/oughtred/mainpages/dinghies.html John
  2. Andrea Doria was a very elegant liner and her tragic end certainly captured my interest as a young boy. She'll make a beautiful model. John
  3. It's good to see an update on your tug. As Mark says, you'll know all that detail is down in the engine room, and so will we! John
  4. Looks like she was hit by quite a squall, Mobbsie, but I'm sure you'll soon have her all shipshape again. John
  5. Sorry, Pete, but I've never seen a structure like that before. Perhaps another member has the answer. John
  6. A huge improvement, Mark, but I think I agree with Dan that there's still a little to go. John
  7. Coming on very nicely, Popeye. By the way, just to be pedantic, the lifeboat 'cradles' are officially called 'chocks'. John
  8. Thank you one and all for the encouragement. Hopefully it won't take so long for the next update. John
  9. It's been a while since I've been able to get to the museum, so no work has been done on the Pritt for a few weeks. In spite of the museum being top heavy with kids yesterday because of the school holidays, I still managed to get quite a bit done. The deck has now been completely treenailed and rough sanded down. Next step will be to make the capping rail, then bring her home for a couple of coats of clear finish before starting on the detail work. John The fore end rough sanded Looking a bit more civilised
  10. Looks like you're off to an excellent start, Hartmut. John
  11. A few wee problems, Popeye, but she's coming together very well! John
  12. It's always a delight to see an update, Alexandru! John
  13. Nice to see an update, Russ. She continues to creep ahead in spite of your busy schedule. John
  14. Good on you for going ahead with the re-fairing, Mark. A brave and wise decision. John
  15. Neither Ian Friel (The Good Ship) nor Gillian Hutchinson (Medieval Ships And Shipping) mention the use of bells. John
