  1. good to see your back at the table Carl..........look really good nice start!
  2. no Carl.....if your like me.......you do anything that hit the table {I've been showing great restraint with the wagons}. at the moment, I'm working on both wood and plastic.
  3. 1:24.........big model! very nice.......... really good progress on the P 40
  4. nice to see you've gotten to the color...........looks super!
  5. glad to hear you and your folks are OK. your kids are helping you???......sounds like a good way to get through these trying times. looks very nice
  6. coming along nicely OC.........is that a flat med green your using?
  7. I hated to put a like to that one lou.......all I can say is that I'm glad my two are grown. yea......I'm a bit short on patients at times myself. this is new to them....I get it.........but I listen to what my older son is going through with his tribe { I think he has three in school now}....he's literally had to go to the school to pick up the homework! colleges and tech schools have been using a method they've developed for a few years now...you would think they would adopt the same method and go from there. take care of the home front and don't worry........we as well as the model will still be here
  8. catching up with your progress James........she's look'in awesome! it's such an 'exact fit' kit........I wonder if a beginner could do well with it. a very nice kit
  9. it's good to work in both mediums........change with the seasons
  10. I bought a couple of Russian bombers by ICM - A. Tupolev TB 3 in 1:72 scale. I think this was what the kit looked like....I still have the decals. they were such a pain to put together, I tossed them {I was heavy into wood back then too}.
  11. the list of captured planes is long.........B 25's, B 24's....a couple P 38 lightnings........British planes....and others. the treaty of Versailles, signed at the end of WWI limited the Germans from building up their air force...what they had was to be completely destroyed. as Tom pointed out, Anthony Fokker moved his entire operation to the Netherlands......including aircraft already built. by the beginnings of WWII, Germany had built up a small air force, but most of the county's planes were geared for civilian transport. when I saw the Wulfe Hound, I thought it was too good a subject to pass over
  12. they were use to run secret missions and reconnaissance.........some of those missions were secret bomb runs. they had FW 200's, Ju90's and Ju 290's...none of these could be retrofitted for heavy bomber operations. I did read through the chapter........it is in there.......called the Dornier Do200, I must have mistook it for another plane and didn't see the correlation. ....this comes from the book of KG 200. you can add 'Wally's Wheels', 'the Ground Hog', and 'Badger Beauty V'.......they were captured later. some were damaged severely, and used for parts. I did get a picture of the tail gear tub installation.......
  13. hope you can get the job done. something to try and make would be a brass 'comb' it doesn't need to be very wide, but the teeth will need to match the ribbing on the panel side. that way after the putty is applied, you can scrape off the excess without ruining the detail. a second thought I have is using a thread pitch gauge...you can find them anywhere tools are sold..........already made with very little work
  14. strange they didn't call them that in the book. there is a glossary in the back of the book listing every type of plane that the Germans had, as well as the ones they captured and lost. they had short range bombing capability at the time. I'll have to read through the chapter about the B 17 again to see if I missed this.
  15. the structures look very good........especially that house .........lots of progress since I last looked in.
  16. considering they are laid out like that {as they all would be}, they'd be the first thing seen. they look good though......nice
  17. really great progress Yves......the sleeping quarters and galley looks awesome
