that's quite a collection Jack.........real nice camo and dioramas the church came out great too.......the set up looks super! no type of lock down here.....but Wally made sure we were set to go if they did. they gave us a letter in the event that we'd get stopped going to work........seriously! they're hell bent and determined not to shut down,,,they are even setting up trailers with parts and stuff in the event that someone infects the shop........we'll have to work outside {that's what they think}. part of me thinks I'm nuts with this picture?!?!....but the idea of putting money before lives is unsettling

great start on a really cool plane Lou........looks like you got your ducks in a row to me.... nice job detailing! -
I remember a few kits like that.......in fact I started to play with one last night....1960 Chevy Belair Impala.........has those white wall inserts. you know.......there are aftermarket tires {AMT} sold as a accessory pack. perhaps you can look into this and find a suitable set. my dad had a '63 { I think} caddy fleetwood four door. it had a button on the floor that one could change the radio station great when you wanted to play a prank on someone

List of surviving Boeing B-17 Flying Fortresses - Wikipedia I wish now that I hadn't dumped all the sites I gathered......a couple in particular would have been a great help the info I've seen so far has her in the 91st BG with the 323 BS......#41-24523, coded OR-N. lost on 8/3/43 in a mid air collision with B 17 42-29816, the eager beaver.. both were B 17F's. she went by three different names in her service...... Golly......Li'l Audrey, and Snooks

there was an incident {now quite a while ago}..........there is a bridge down near the cape {Massachusetts} that is very narrow. from what I understand, if a rig was to go over it, there was hardly any room for passing cars. well.........he hugged the side a wee bit too close! the side of that trailer was never the same.....hauled by a dedicated driver and not a Wally driver.

as long as you left enough room up front for the second section to fit into, your right in the ball park! looks super. as mentioned.....I was always under the impression that the fore and main masts were both two sectioned. after looking in Petersson's book, I see that the fore mast has a short top gallant section. so yes.......I'll go three sections for the fore mast, and two sections for the main mast. I learned something too this morning.......thanks for making me take that second look

thanks Sam and J......couldn't wait to get some paint on her. not perfect, but I'm happy with it today, I repainted the gray....that looks better now..............I laid a couple more sections of deck planking, after making the adjustments on the stand. the dark walnut looks Ok, but is so dark the simulated calking can hardly be seen. maybe getting more laid down will show more. secondly, some of the strips are warped, so they have a curve to them.......great if I was doing a second planking, but not in this case. not sure how many are warped, so I'm taking a gamble that I will have enough. the kit only supplies one mast collar for the deck......I traced out a few others and cut one out. they don't match the thickness of the original one, so I cut out a second one to match them both. I did another search for pictures of the Clotilda...........found a lot of pictures of the discovery of the ship, but only drawings......and one portrait with the name spelt differently...the Clotilde. I guess the National Geographic picture is all I have to go by. I'll keep look'in thanks to you all for hitt'in the like button.....really appreciate it. don't be suprised though if you notice that I changed the title........can't seem to come up with a good name for the second hull.......Agilis is as good as any I guess

the metal block look like brackets rather than blocks......jut not the envisionment of blocks with no real 'hole' to speak of. if you want to use them, it's up to you......my offer still stands I looked in Peterssons book to refresh MY memory........as I thought....no tops. I was always under the impression that both masts are only two sectioned, but I see that there is a short third section on the fore mast with it's own cross tree...... note the horse for the main mast boom. doesn't appear that the cross trees act as a spreader either.........may be due to the rake of the masts. your going to have a majestic looking lady there

my favorites are bombers and WWI aircraft. I seldom do jets...but I have an F 15 Eagle I sometimes regret going totally into wood, and not keeping up with the plastic medium.......did that about ten years. I've forgotten so much it seems, or I'm having to get my edge back. well if your gonna go............go with a smile!

your right........it might have been better to build from scratch.......your arms must be wet noodles by now! we've had a few incidents of low bridge....I think though that most of our trailers are 13.6. they are posted, but guys try to go under anyway....one was going fast enough to cleave off over 3 feet of the trailer roof, before it stopped him! I brought one in one day because of a roof leak........looking in the trailer at first, it looked like something was sticking through the tear. come to find out, it was a nozzle from a filling station's emergency fire system! it started to open the roof like a can opener, before it broke off. this means you might need to alter the doors too. you did a super job!

B-25 Mitchell "Meet Miss Runyon" by Javlin-HK-1/32

....a well detailed engine the props look good too! -
thanks......it's not my best job, but it came out better than expected considering the kit. well folks.......I said I'd hopefully have some evening progress for ya......so here goes. at the moment......I'm like a kid in a candy store......bopp'in from idea to idea. really not ideal for a head fulla sawdust...it'll knock the stuff'in outa ya! I was going to repaint the inner bulwarks, but the heck with it.......I found myself masking for the upper outer hull paint. of course, with the hull upside down, I expected the upper surface of the rub rail to get missed. I decanted some of the paint into a small bottle and tried to brush it on, but the glue marks were showing up. still wearing the rubber gloves, I damned the torpedoes and held the hull while touching all this up. I tried to cover the deck, but I stink at it......hate it {never used to be}. there is part of the center deck plank run to the hold, but I'm hoping I miss it. terrible job on the inner bulwarks huh.........that will get another coat of paint. I'm gonna make the adjustment to the stand too...the dremel is in the garage. you know......I bought another accessory kit for the dremel, and I hardly use it. Gibbs hates the sound. anyway........giving this plenty of time to dry, it was re masked, and the bottom was done. pay no attention to the clothes pinned behemoth behind her..........the only flaw is at the bow. gotta touch that up. I'll let her set overnight.....gives me time to work on the stand.

wow! that's some really nice planking! been a while since I saw what you were up to......I see your still having fun not really a tip, but something you might try.......when you plank your decks, try using thin strip. they are easier to cut and trim, and it will add to your bulwarks. 1.5 mm planking vs .5 can make a big difference. I use Annegre sold by Billing Boats.....it's kind of like mahogany and comes in different shades. it can be purchased blonde as well so it can be stained any color you'd like. great looking planking...much better than I can do permission to follow along.........

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
