  1. Hi Mark Beautiful workmanship and amazing details. All in all, wow! Cheers Patrick
  2. Hey Hartmut Top job on carving the sea monsters! ...and, need I say, the rest of the ship ain't too bad, either!!! Cheers Patrick
  3. Hi Walter I wouldn't worry too much. You've had too much on your plate, lately. Just the fact that you're able to even think about your CAD drawings is a good sign. All the best! Cheers Patrick
  4. Hi Denis Finally got time to catch up! Man she's looking great. The paints certainly threw up some challenges, but, you've overcome them admirably. Lovely stuff! Cheers Patrick
  5. Hi Chris It's great to see you back into building your little beauty. I really like the toe rail. What a difference it's made to the overall effect. Nice!! Cheers Patrick
  6. Hi Denis Brilliant work on the net. Now all the effort that you've put into the trawl rig, buoys, winches, etc, is all starting to make sense. I can just picture Suborn chugging the seas trawling those waters. Speaking of trawling, if you could just send her over here...there're a few recalcitrant goldfish in our pond! Cheers Patrick
  7. Hi Frank Lovely framing. This is where the fruits of your labour really starts to take shape. Cheers Patrick
  8. Hi Rob Hehehe...sorry about that! Ya gotta stay off the cool aid! It's still amazing how you do them. It takes me 12 to 18 months just to do one of mine (and mine are minuscule compared to your giants)! Have a great weekend. Cheers Patrick
  9. Hi Rob THREE MONTHS???????? Oh my Lord. It takes me three months to decide when I'm gonna start a boat.... I'm feeling totally inadequate now! Cheers Patrick
  10. Hi Rob Beautiful work and I love the look of the hull and masts in the overall shots. A true little ripper! Cheers Patrick
  11. Hahah. Carl! Loved it. No probs. PS. You can out of your corner now!😊 Cheers Patrick
  12. Hi Bob I hear ya, brother! Maybe we're both just gluttons for punishment? LOL All the best! Cheers Patrick
  13. Hi Brian Many thanks! The holes that you mentioned are for the spiral staircases leading from the bilge deck to the upper decks. They look a bit odd now, but hopefully once the stairs are in place, things will make more sense. Well...that's the plan anyway! All the best. Patrick
  14. Hi Denis I totally understand about the case, or lack thereof. Hopefully, one day you'll score one at the right time or place. As for your next boat, well, I reckon that you should start another log; that way, even more people can enjoy it. Have a great week. Cheers Patrick
  15. Hang about!!!!! I was just thinking the same thing! Bob, ya gotta stop doing this to us😊. I know, I know....sometimes it's hard to stop to take photos when it's full steam ahead with the building! Nevertheless, top job, Bob. Really, really nice. Cheers Patrick
  16. Hi Denis It's great to see you back into Syborn, again. And...as Kees has said, the overall shots show just what a marvellous job you're doing. A true little gem, I'd say. You must be getting really close to finishing her off. Have you got a display case all sorted for her? Cheers Patrick
  17. Thanks Denis Really appreciate that. Yep, you're right, though. The cabins are TINY. I'm really beginning to wonder just what I've gotten myself in for, because there's not a hell of a lot of detail that I can add in them...but I'll try my best. Oh well, at least I'm having heaps of fun (and satisfaction). Can't ask any more than that, I guess! Have a great week. Cheers Patrick
  18. Hi Greg Thanks. I guess 'boring' is one way to describe it, but it's still exciting to think that at least I'm getting closer to building all the fun stuff. Can't wait! Have a great week. Cheers Patrick
  19. Hi folks A quick update for you all - Shadow's interior accommodation continues to grow, albeit slowly. So far, I've been concentrating on building the layout of all the cabins located within the Bilge, Lower and Main decks. Getting these in the correct locations is vital, otherwise, the various staircases connecting the decks would be askew. Trust me, that would not be a good look! Oh well, there's still heaps of fun to go. Have a great week, everyone! Cheers Patrick
  20. Hi Nils Once again, I'm totally blown away with what you've been able to achieve. The work is so finely detailed, yet perfectly in-scale. Just amazing! What's even more surprising is the photo with your giant fingers in the way. Just that photo alone, emphasises how small the individual parts are. Amazing! Cheers Patrick
