  1. Hi Keith Wow! Looking mighty fine; especially the engine room. Cheers Patrick
  2. Hi Dave I agree entirely with everyone's comments and sentiments. Who cares what they think anyway. You know and, we know just how difficult doing what you've done is. And, that's all that matters. Cheers Patrick
  3. Hi Nils I always marvel whenever I see your KWDG. Have you ever thought of entering her into model competitions? I reckon she'd surely be a winner, even at her current unfinished state. Keep up the fantastic work! Cheers Patrick
  4. Hi Piet I had no idea that the witchetty grubs were in Indonesia as well. Oh well, it kinda makes sense, I guess, seeing as Australia and Indonesia are neighbours. I haven't eaten one (thankfully), but everyone seems to say that they're yummy! Not for me, though. Thanks also for your comments about the anchor. Sadly, I reckon the swivelling flukes are a tad beyond my abilities . Cheers and all the best! Patrick
  5. Hi Steve Love those boats, especially the one that's been painted. Are you using all of these boats? Or, are some just for practice? Cheers Patrick
  6. Hi DJ Bobo Nice, clean and precise work! Cheers Patrick
  7. Hi Piet "You've done a Patrick..." - well, how does the saying go? Copying is the biggest form of flattery (or something like that anyway!). Seriously though, Piet. That's a mighty fine piece of work. A true treasure to behold, packed with detail, atmosphere, charm and majesty. What's more, it paints a beautiful visual story of how ships were built in those far away years. Just marvellous! Oh, and by the way, I'm definitely in the front row seat for your next mini-marvel. Cheers Patrick
  8. Thanks Carl and Lawrence for your compliments above! A special thanks, also, to all who added their Likes as well. Just a quick update so far. Tonight I added the chrome flashing around the bow's port and starboard anchor wells. They don't look too bad; contrasting nicely against Majellan's black hull. I also tried my hand at doing one of her two anchors. Not a bad try, I thought. I'll see if I can do any better and once satisfied, I'll paint them a silvery colour. I hope you enjoy the photos, folks. All the best! Patrick
  9. Hi Mehmet Unbelievable! I'm totally speechless and not sure what else to say, because no other words would suffice. Nicely done. Cheers Patrick
  10. Hi Jeff It's sad to hear about your Parents in Law. Battling so many illnesses at the same time is obviously a significant stressor for any family, so my thoughts are with you. I wish you, your wife and your parents in law, the very best of wishes. On a brighter note, hey, that jig is a one smart little device! I wish I'd thought of that when I was building my Victory, Bounty and Lennox models. It would certainly have saved me some angst! All the best and I look forward to seeing your next update. Cheers Patrick
  11. Looks pretty darn fair to me, Mick. Very, very, nice! Cheers Patrick
  12. Love those boats, Bob! Really nice. Cheers Patrick
  13. Hi Piet Many thanks. However, here in Oz, we don't have giant grains of rice. We just have these: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witchetty_grub Well....if you look long and hard enough, it kinda looks like a grain of rice, i.e. until it moves!!!! Cheers Patrick
  14. Hi Ben Yep! Well, styrene for the round base of the chair. The seat cushions and base are white card from a cereal box. Cheers Patrick
  15. Hi everyone Thanks for all of your Likes and comments - greatly appreciated! I've taken a short break from the Lower Deck's accommodation to focus on finishing off the ship's Bridge (located on the Bridge Deck, of course!). Principally, I've added a couple of cabinets and other assorted items to give the bridge some degree of credibility. I've also made the all important "Skipper's Chair", which can be seen in a few of the photos. Lastly, located just aft of the bridge itself, on the starboard side, is a small washroom with a toilet in it. I've started fit this out as well. All that's required to be added is the toilet bowl itself. Later folks, later... I hope you like these photos. Cheers Patrick
  16. Hi Keith Nice! I really like where this ship's heading. The framework for the cabin looks spot on. Here's a thought. Would you consider keeping one side un-planked, thereby allowing the internal framework to be viewed? Seems like a shame to cover it all up. Cheers Patrick
  17. Hi Piet Ok. Giant matchsticks. Giant grains of rice. Huge clothes pegs. And a ginormous globe. Mmmmm. Me thinks there's some trickery going on here! Oh wait...nope. It's just Piet raising the realms of possibilities even higher. Nicely done, Piet! Cheers Patrick
  18. Hi Dan Exquisitely nice! Cheers Patrick
