  1. Looking smart Alan, I think the tissue paper PE will be our lasting memory of these kits, I have worked out - trying to rush/fit to much of it in one go - spells disater, best to do a bit - do something different on the build then come back to the PE. OC.
  2. Thank you Alan, its just a buff colour first then a couple of Dark Brown washes - it adds the shadow detail and ages the wood a bit. OC.
  3. Evening all, more little work in tiny land - this time with Three motor cruisers - they were put togther (canopy added to hull) then painted and washed and glued in place. OC.
  4. What was your clean method for gluing - so you did not get too much glue seepage? OC.
  5. Really nice build - so lifelike - amazing what detail can be put into these builds. OC.
  6. Looking sweet - nicely detailed - nice and simple design that just works - some nice RC kits of them also - but that's a really deep rabbit hole. OC.
  7. So good to see you back with us in our model making world (so right we need the restbite that builds bring us) Happy New Year to brother. OC.
  8. Very nicely done Dan - it just so looks the part - weldone. OC.
  9. Thank you kindly Alan, I brushed in some sand colour first then added a few coats of my dark Brown wash to bring out the planks. OC.
  10. I certainly recommend a Harder Steenbeck Ultra set up - I am still getting used to mine but it is a great system. OC.
  11. Evening all, A bit more done this evening - I painted the wood sections of the boats and floats then added a few washes to shade them and bring out the wood, then I did a few details washes including some of the vents and port holes. OC.
  12. That is looking really nice Alan - so much detail on these kits - the biggest hurdle (to me anyway) is cleaning delicate things up off the sprues. OC.
  13. Evening all, somemore progress this evening - I have glued the sub assemblies down onto the deck, the main conning tower was a bit of a tight fit and needs a bit of a touch up where a few bits of paint was scrubbed away. Oh I painted one of the decks in corticene. Still some more detail painting to do OC.
  14. Yep put a bit of Blue Tack on top make it flat and push the item on it (gently) make an easy handling tool. OC.
  15. Fantastic build, so love these early planes and seeing them at Airshows so brings home how delicate they were. OC.
  16. Yep I can relate to that - if its good enough its goes on general display - otherwise in the man cave cupboard. OC.
  17. Evening all, hope everyones holidays are going well, I had to pull my fingure out and clear the table ready for my spraying booth, first was to lay some primer down on all the sub assemblies, these were attached to blue tack lids on my bottles and tap on the end of lolly sticks, I then got everything set up and put a coat down, after drying with the dryer, I mixed up my AP507A and put down a few light coats. These parts are put a side waiting to fully dry before they get some detail painting like the corticene on a couple of sub assembly decks. OC.
  18. I would have said some kind of covers perhaps over the top of somekind of pipework. OC.
  19. Im here Kevin, this is going to be a very interesting build - my hats off to you already for what you are building. Happy New Year to you and yours. OC
