  1. spent the day on the derrick mast, made a fantastic job on it, paint looked great, solder work tidy, fitted the navigation lights all winch gear and siren went to fit the ladder, to short, look for another, there isnt another, look at plans 170mm mine is 170mm, checked it all again checked instructions, for what there worth, 170mm minus 40mm Dam quess what im doing tomorrow
  2. personally, i would removes the channel edging, and redo the deadeyes with a stiffer wire or go down the route of putting the Caldercraft fittings in place as they stop movement within the channel i beleive this to be one of your phots Dave, nice build
  3. like this in different sizes
  4. could you try a apply a solder joint in situ, other than that it might mean redoing them, But in the Caldercraft Victory the deadeye fitted into a formed ring that attached to the hull
  5. well i hadnt until about 2 years ago at the Warwick model show they are a UK company that supplies 1/96 ferry kits to fulfil a gap in the market for that type of vessel the Norland was used in the Falkland's conflict, her and sister ship norstar were later stretched by 18m the stretched norland/Norstar will most likely be my next build, after the Amerigo is completed, or put back into storage, thought someone out there might be interested, i am in contact with two builders, but no build logs exist, other than the companys development thread on another forum Linkspan Models
  6. good morning everyone thank you for comments and likes well the forward wheel house is finished for now, im happy with the way she turned out, thats most of the big stuff done, a ton of smaller tuff to remake, scratch, find or repair
  7. good evening everyone thank you for comments and likes the forward wheel house is still getting attention, having learnt to solder on the bluebell build it has paid dividends on the brass canopy the raft for the midships boats have been made up, still to be painted
  8. its a lovely build but to small a scale for me, and i dont want a 1/72 carrier, although i have looked at 1/96 from Sirmar many times
  9. i dont care what happens to my builds when im gone, infact if i did not post on the forums then apart from my wife and doggie, no one would know they even existed to that end, checking the ebay, it is full of model ships that have been handed down to people that dont want then, their fates are sealed and will end in landfill, i doubt many non museum pieces will exist after 100 years, as we all start to live in smaller and smaller properties on the other hand, i love what i build and proud that i made it, not built for a time span other than my own
  10. i dont think that would work, as it may mess up the alignment to everything else, , wales, stern fittings etc
  11. another option to to put balsa between the bulkheads, and sand to fit. will give you some thing to lay the single planking over
  12. thats some lovely build you have there, im sure i was following this, but apparently not, Shame on me
  13. Welcome to msw good luck and enjoy yourself here
  14. Good evening everyone this cabin i think is called the chicken coup, no idea why, and i dont think chicken are involved i still have to purchase some smaller portholes to finish it off and paint it the fwd house has had to be scratched, as it kind of exploded, after several attempts to salvage it i gave up and made a new one, not brilliant but looks ok apart from the mast, these deck fittings will now be used
  15. welcome your hardest part is not starting each kit without completing the previous one lol
  16. Good evening everyone the the after house is completed with the exception of the aldis lamp front (lost for now) lots to do but some of the work will be delayed whilst i replace some of the lost/used bits, annoying but my fault
  17. Good morning OC she is such a busy ship, but very little in the kit is of use and lol the bits i do want have been used on other builds this is what i am aiming for NOT MY PHOTO
  18. Good evening everyone well the balcony is completed, i was going to do the stern railings next, But i dont have aby stanchions, i used them on the 1/72 Fife Dam
  19. Good evening everyone all the pin rails throughout the kit are wrong so i have attempted to adapt the supplied ones, my ordered paint arrived todat, so was able to move on with the stern,, this has now been panelled im struggling tonight getting the balcony panels to fit, - yes i mixed them up in error (schoolboy error) the instructions didnt do anything to help the situation, although im not blaming them
