  1. Good evening Everyone thank you @ccoyle for amending the title, i must do better when naming my logs more progress today, and im happy with the green. i am in no hurry to put the veranda on, it would be far to easy for me to break it
  2. the Caldercraft is a good kit, but decent reference material is required as the plans are lacking, some great builds on her , HMS Victory by gil middleton - FINISHED - Caldercraft - 1:72 - Page 25 - - Kit build logs for subjects built from 1751 - 1800 - Model Ship World™ i also attempted it but poor in comparison
  3. good evening Mike, just catching up on what everyone is doing, thats a nice looking build, lol to small for my eyes though, looking forward to the next update
  4. good evening everyone all the upper portholes and airports have now been fitted, and the recessed rivets have been replaced, i hope to have all the upper works in green tomorrow, then decide if i like it or not, otherwise i will rip it all off and restart
  5. sorry i did read your post incorrectly
  6. Welcome to MSW, if you are still looking, Amati do some nice entry vessels, as do Billings, but the san Juan will fit the bill very nice
  7. wrt to the billets, have you discussed it with Tom at CAF
  8. Good evening everyone look long and hard at the build today, and decided to be a bit braver with her the yellow ochre is going, NO yellow Ochre on this build (subject to change), it is being replaced with Olive green, why i ask you say, and my thinking is ( i dont have an answer yet) anyway i am committed to the build and ordered some extra bits for her today, including olive green the banding is sitting better now, i altered a few bits today the ports i am experimenting with to see if it works
  9. Good evening everyone Hull well with the Dorade finished, its back to the Amerigo, the Enterprise will continue at some time in the future when my confidence returns so back to the banding, im having trouble sourcing some air ports/portholes they appear in the instructions as part number 202 and are 6.8 x 3.3, i need about 30 of them, but have plenty to so until i come up with a solution, buying kit number 3 is not really an option for some reason the banding is longer one side than the other so i have a gap to fill other then that, this for me is 1000% better than my previous attempt 11 years ago
  10. Thankyou everyone for likes and comments, i have a spring/summer project for a purpose built display
  11. Good afternoon everyone the stand has now been made up properly and mounted on a stained pine shelf last night i finished a few last bits off, rope coils, safely rail and and the silly mounted navigation lights the last thing i did was put the name on, which is Dora, as she bears very little resemblance to the real item thank you to all those who have followed me i will put some reveal phots in the gallery later Thank you MSW for a lovely retirement gift
  12. lol i am moving faster now that im retired, but my Victory took 7 years, and not that well done either, St Nectan 13 months, and currant build started last June, but i keep moving on to other projects, when i see something different/better, the Amerigo was started in 2008 and went onto the shelf of doom the same year
  13. have you managed to do any more work on this project, coming along a treat
