  1. good evening everyone after several attempts to make a pin rail i have one that is very nearly how i would like it, i have increased the belaying pins from the kit qty 7 to 19 and keeping the footprint the same size, it could possibly be made a bit narrower under the pin level i have managed to get the right amount middle pullies from 7 to 12 but the ends should be 5 where as i can only get 2 and possibly 3, i may run with this for now i have now decided to build up the foremast, to ensure my colour scheme works and to get an idea on how the revised rigging will work
  2. this is the main mast so if i remake the foredeck ones, i have a real issue with the fittings already in place, boy its going to be cramped up there one good thing is that not everything is secured in place, and those that are have been pinned
  3. good morning everyone i was recently given access to a lot of Amerigo information and there is a lot of it, of course most of the drawings relate to masts and rigging, and pin rails of course these are provided as part of the kit i remade one pair to replicate a build here on MSW to double the size but it seams i am still out by 50% but
  4. that looks so very nice, you have a very busy workshop at present
  5. good evening Robby its always helpful to provide us with a little more info on what you are looking for however the search engine her on MSW is very good due to way the forum is set up by typing in clipper gives you this, and will show you a few examples on ongoing or completed works on here Showing results for 'clipper'. - Model Ship World™
  6. good evening everyone i must be 80% complete on the deck fittings now, and half of them are now fixed into position, i have thrown my toys out of the pram quite a few times over the 1/1 deck plans are they dont bear any resemblance to the instructions and certainly not the ship its self, going to interesting when it gets to the rigging as the plans are about 2/3 the scale of the 1/84 most of the kit items are being adapted to take more belaying pns, but in the same size carcass
  7. welcome to MSW i just built this and is suitable for RC By Amati this is my build log link Dorade renamed Dora by Kevin - FINISHED - Amati - 1/20 - Completed March 2021 - Page 5 - - Kit build logs for subjects built from 1901 - Present Day - Model Ship World™
  8. Good afternoon everyone nothing much to write about on this build, its just a matter of keep adding bits to it, hopefully i will attract new followers when it comes to masting, and making my own rope and sails but for now its more brass, wheelie bins and some sunshine
  9. Good evening everyone you lot must be sick of asking stoooooopid questions i ordered the Dormanoff ropewalk and it has been despatched i have read loads of articles and, basically got quite confused, not because of how to make it, but material to use, i have eventually found a source in the UK for Guntermann but although they do the sizes 120, 100, 70 and 30 as per @Chuck article the colours are not i read somewhere that you can get good results by colouring white rope after its made, reason for asking is that i have just ordered some white with that intention, but dont know where i saw the article or dreamt i it
  10. Good evening everyone the main decks are starting to get busy now. as the made up fittings go into position, stiill loads to do but anticipate the mast work to start in a week or two, i have been given so much info wrt to rigging and sail plans from a member on here via dropbox, im quite pleased with myself the way its going, even the hate post wrt to the green are dying down now come a long way from this midships boat storage in place 8 vents being made up i traced the plans to fit the vents in the correct position in place and fitted
  11. i was going to leave it, and let it age like me, But if there are any solutions , which don't involve me removing each bit to protect, IM listening, and thank you Mike
  12. i did initially bid on it, but it went for £82 , with quite a bit of interest at the end, thats ok if you wanted a box of bits, but nothing to build a kit from
  13. lovely work, and the sails look great, thankyou for sharing your build on here wrt sail, should i ever re rig my version then sails would be added,
  14. very nice indeed Paul, i have put all my Victory books away for now, so i dont know if Longridge had a answer to your question
  15. good evening everyone on the stern, all the awnings are in place along with the lower part of the davits, each time i look at others builds i see more detail to be added Midships is now getting the attention, another set of stairwells, and hatch ways are now in place the Kit 8 arrived today for the masts, i bought it as the replacement parts i wanted came far more expensive and not all available
