@Ian_Grantand @scrubbyj427 thank you, with the blue colour, i may change the name of her, as the real Dorade remained White, but yes she makes a nice build, im still amazed how tall she is though

good evening everyone back to boat building for the foreseeable future the Dorade must be completed before anything else, then i would like to get back to the Amerigo Vespucci, and of course the Enterprise Rigging blocks two sizes 6 large and about 20 smaller ones, and something i have never seen before, you have to make your own from mini kits and they look quite good when completed

very nice indeed im so glad you are carrying on with it, mine has now gone on the back burner, as my yearning to boat build has come back to me -
good evening everyone finally worked out how the diorama is going to work out for me, ever since the walled city became a walled harbour, the intention was to put a vessel in there, the vessel will bee the Caldercraft Mary Rose as it sits in around the 15th 16th Century time frame i will be working on this project for another couple of weeks and then turn my attention to finishing of at least one project (the Dorade) meanwhile i have altered the right hand corner again the accommodate the jetty, hopefully it will be tidied off tomorrow the new area looks a bit messy at present due to using pieces that were on the old design, nothing is being wasted, in a worst case, the bricks are soaked in warm water to release the PVA glue are reused new jetty, this need to be about 6" inches longer to accommodate the Mary rose the distance from the edge of the round tower to the jetty edge is 30'

good afternoon everyone well im happy with the basic shape of the harbour, and should not change much now, some walls have been replaced but the previous units will go into the town, one of the two lighthouse now have homes this afternoon i tried to do some basic weathering, agreed the tide line dont right tight, this will be the water lever so hopefully what is seen will be lightened or darkened, lol we all have to start somewhere

welcome back -
good evening everyone well another sea wall made up, this is about 550mm long and hopefully will be sufficient to park a Tudor warship, if and when i get the chance to built one the basic layout is now taking shape and im happy with it, although i still have to think about ensuring the inside is secure from attack/nasty people
-
good afternoon everyone i now have the basic outline of the harbour, the centrepiece, will be a future build of a Tudor warship at or around 1/70 to 1/90 scale just making up the last sea wall the entrance on the right will take us all into the town, the chest of drawers as so called needs a new position, so at present i am now working out what to do with the back high wall

buildings are coming along very nice -
good evening everyone the build continues, and gets bigger weekly i wanted to try and attempt a bricks and wood structure, as this will form a lot of the buildings as it progresses forward, so i tried it with a large warehouse, as it will form part of the dockyard, i can just see a Tudor warship tied up alongside ( no dragons) that would certainly provide some reason for the royal parade i have no home for the warehouse at present a few other bits are coming together as well, as wall are being finished off
-
good evening everyone quite a lot of changes and progress made since the last update, the palace/chest of drawers is now smaller, hopefully, it will look better than a block of flats when complete the tunnel has gone and the where the tunnel was a new wall has been made the royal route to the palace has changed as well the first wall i made on the right side jetty has been extended

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
