  1. Finish all planking and sanding before any varnish, otherwise you might have issues with adhering.
  2. Brad, first of all, a warm welcome to MSW. Now as for the pictures and showing your build. Please create a seperate build on the correct topic area. Copy and paste from the other site. Again warm welcome cold Pacific Northwest.
  3. Dave, from a cold Pacific Northwest a warm welcome to you.
  4. Wayward, You have done a very nice job with Lady Nelson, there are other build logs of her so look into them for information.
  5. Andrew, I would recommend you to use epoxy for the second hull planking. Epoxy creates a watertight seal then sand the second layer make it super smooth then apply your varnish. Sand inbetween sessions. That should do some of the sealing, also I would recommend to epoxy the inside of the hull. Use WestMarine 105 and 205 and silica powder. Btw, nice progress. Good luck.
  6. Paul, I like the priming you have done. Looks very good. What color are you going to give the prop shafts. Seems like you did your homework regarding the paint. The combination of Tamiya and Vallejo seems like a good combination. What color code are you using for the underwater painting?
  7. The Black Swan - renamed from the Black Pearl due to license issues
  8. Wonder if that would be HMS Interceptor? Which would make sense.
  9. Hej Felix och Välkommen till ModelShipWorld, I am assuming your located in Sweden based on your "Shipyard". You are off to a good start with your Esperance. As for planking there is links above under NRG tab regarding planking. There are also lots of youtube tutorials to look into as well. Planking can feel a little intimidating but once you have it done and painted it will feel so much better. Lycka till och uppdatera ditt bygge. Good luck and please let us know if you have any questions.
  10. Greg, that looks amazing...... and I also recognize several of the books in your bookshelf. Have many of them myself.
  11. What show in February and where in WA? Like to be there... unless it interfere with my DF95 or IOM saiing
  12. No matter the type of modelling I
  13. Fiurar, I am glad to hear that you are back into your ship. HMS Victory by Corel is quite a ship to build. But this ship is a great flag ship to display at home. And it is not a cheap model to buy today. Seen prices starting at 700 dollars.
  14. And sometimes you build something without any build log, say it is a rather fast build - or a built that has been laying around for a while that was missing some details. I can see one would upload directly to the gallery instead of creating a small and short build log. Just my two cents....
  15. I would use the model and create a battle diorama; the damage is there already.....🙃
  16. She is a big ship, 1:200 is an impressive scale and will definitely show details. The PE details will also be easier to handle. Is she about 1300mm long?
  17. The deck looks really nice, but if you pull your finger along the planks you will find how rough they are, this as the fibergrains has risen. Now use aluminium wool as a sander and your deck will be smooth and getting a shine.
  18. Peter, Warm
  19. John, I don't know for how long they have had this misprint, all the Bluenose build logs has had the same box cover and why it says solid hull is a mystery. Your Bluenose is looking very nice, mine is at a standstill. The coldness in the garage doesn't help either.
