Sjors, I suppose your fans want more pics :).

Did you use normal woodglue or the water resistant woodglue.

Normal woodglue you can soften with steam (as John already said) and with the help of a sharp knife you are able to release the parts.

Cheers,
Wim

Hi all,

I have used steam for making the parts loose and it works :D

The fix had done…..

The first shrouds are on the mizzen mast.

No pics of the mast.

@ Popeye,

If you look back a few pages, you can see that the mizzen mast, the crow's nest is to high so I had it lower it down.

Already done :D

@ Thanks John.

Tomorrow a picture when the mizzen mast is in place with the shrouds.

Not today, because I have to go for my second part of my shift :(

But………if i only post things that I've done to the build, it something like….oke, a few planks done and I see you in a few days again when I've done an other plank.

In the mean while it is silence at my build log.

So people are looking once, maybe twice, or three times and that's it.

They gonna way to another log or either an other forum.

Hmmmm... I think I get it, Sjors - wait a minute - you're describing my log!!!  A post here or there with very little activity in between.  I guess I am just not the gracious host you are - for example, I've never offered anyone coffee over there.

In any case, my post was done with tongue firmly planted in cheek - just having a little fun, no offense intended.

BTW - I did finally go back far enough to find a photo of your work (18 pages back, I think :P ) - it is really looking great - I will be following more closely from here on out.

Off to a great start Sjors.  Those deadeyes can be finicky little bits but they get easier as you go along.  Don't be like me and get impatient.  You are just at the beginning of making her spectacular.

Hi Sjors,

Great to see some string going on at last! Are you using a jig to get even spacing on your dead-eyes? If not, I'd recommend that you do. I used one that I pinched from EdT's Victory log (he has a great drawing of it there) and it worked well for me. You can see a picture of it in action on my log too.

Off to a good start on the deadeyes, Sjors - very nice!  And pictures, too!  What a treat to wake up to this morning!  Thank you - have a great day!

That's impressive Sjors, I can imagine now how the ship looks like when rigged.

Thanks motivating people!

@ Augie,

I'm not impatient…...

I want to have it done!  :D

Those deadeyes are so small…and I have ones that are even smaller  :(

@ Andy,

I thought I was feeling something.

First I thought it was my lease dog but she come in 2 weeks so it was not her.

It was YOU!

@ Grant,

I have make a little jig….

The same as I use with the Corsiar.

Otherwise I don get them in one line….

@ Wayne,

I'm glad that I can make your day!

It's in the afternoon here so most of the day are almost over….

@ John,

Thanks,

When she is finished with all that rope you don't see a ship anymore :D

@ Robbyn,

There is a seat available next to Sherry.

In the time you are watching closely you can have some girl talk with Sherry…..

Sjors

You are off to a good start - and it looks like the cannon is properly aligned to fire between the deadeye lanyards, always a good thing. There are some tight tolerances there.

Nice to see some pictures Sjors.

Nice progress :).

Why do you use lightcoloured rigging?

As far as I know only the rigging at the deadeyes is light and all above is darkcoloured.

Cheers,
Wim

Sjors,

The pictures look fine...good progress on your least favorite task. :)

When I was doing deadeyes I made a fixture and did them all off the ship and then rigged them matching side to side. Not that it makes much difference but it seemed less taxing to me than having my rattled nerves constantly at the side of the ship.

Cheers,

Jim

Either way just keep moving Up and with Anja pushing, you'll be there soon. Keep up the Excellent work!

Hi, Sjors! Shroud plate are established incorrectly. They have to be shroud continuation, and at you go under different corners to shroud.
