A little update.

I placed a few decorations but I found out that I missing some sheets with windows.

I send Corel an e-mail to see if they can send to me.

I also make the stairs at the outside and the entrance of the ship on the port side.

Now I have to go to the starboard side…..

The figurine (Mirage) is also in place and the bow is so far ready.

Thanks for dropping in.

Coffee is back in the corner over there…..

The decorations……a few are damage, the gold paint is gone.

Not my fault , they are like this in the kit.

I have send Corel an e-mail about the sheet for the windows and I have all ready an answer.

They will send it to me right away!

Great service from Corel.

Nice going Sjors. I've consulted my crystal ball and I see ratlines in your near future - lots of them! :D

Hi John,

I've got another e-mail from Corel.

I forget to tell them with kit I'm building so at 10 o'clock I give them an answer and 15 minutes later I've got an e-mail back that they have send the items…..

Hi Grant,

Can you see also in your crystal ball if I'm rich in the future?????

I know that there are a lot of ratline coming….

But first some other stuff like the masts…..

I think it will be very easy that I make that before I put any ratline on it  :D

Hi Patrick,

What kind of progress do you want…..

I was making the crow nest but it goes wrong all the time so I quit with that for this moment.

I think I go further at the canons..

Nice progress Sjors.

If you want to repair the decorations, in a special art shop you can buy good quality goldpaint.

Hi Frank,

Thanks, and about the crows nest.......that is really teribble......I have to scratch everything!

Not only that but also the things where the masts come together, those blocks...

I think this is almost more scratch then a kit.

No smileys now because I'm posting using on Anja's Ipad

She's talking with Mobbsie on the pc.

That's some FANCY decorations on that ship of yours Sjors, I wonder how many tons that added to her deadweight, proberbly had to unload all the cannons ( and cannonballs, cotton or not ) just so she would sail well.

Looking really good my friend.

Hi Ben,

That's a good question.

And it's not only the weight of the cannonballs but also the supplies and don't forget the crew.

How many crew members are there on board? 200 or maybe more?

But I think it's the same with an airplane…it's metal and it stays in the air…..

The law's of Newton or that one from Murphy…...

Who know's. please tell me…...

And thanks for the visit.

I have to tell you something….

When you ever want's to build the Le Mirage, take attention of this!

How further you come with the build, how more scratch build you have to do!

For example….the crow's nest, the place of the belaying pins, the connections between the masts… it's all scratch!

The drawings are terrible and there is no overview drawing on scale 1:1

No wonder it takes a while before I have an update.

I know what you mean Derek,

It's not only for the crows nest that the drawings terrible.

It's for the hole build.

You have to figure out by your self where what is going where.

And not look one picture forward but you have to start at the end before you do things at the beginning and still hopes that it works……that way!

I want a challange and I get one!

To be honest….when I knew this before I never start this kit!

But I have started it and now I will finished it!

Even it takes 10 years……..and a lot of words that is not in any dictionary….

Now, now Sjors.  Figuring all this stuff out is part of the FUN.  You're in no hurry.

Now as far as crew, figure 5 men for each gun, a bunch to sail the ship while the others are fighting, a cadre of officers and a bunch of Marines.  200 won't do it!  Oh, on Mirage you'll need another 25 just to polish the brass :D

Sjors,

Forgot you have 2 builds running ... You've made this one a rather shiny, blinking war piece. How many guns? Though I have to admit, she does look goooood.

Would it still be fun if everything went smooth (van een leien dakje)... Can't imagine you having the time of your life putting her together in a jiffy.
