Patrick,

Catching up. You continue to amaze us with your skill at a scale we mortals can hardly imagine. Do please show the electronics, servos and motor you intend to install (this is an RC build isn’t it?). Inquiring minds want to know. HA!

Excellent work.

Hi folks

Thanks for all of your Likes and comments!

I’ve put a halt to all building works in order to concentrate on the painting of the hull and superstructure.  I’ve opted for full gloss paints for the hull and superstructure; which, I feel is entirely appropriate, especially given that the full-sized boat is full gloss (well, that’s my excuse, anyway).

Now, without further ado, can someone pls tell Luke Skywalker that his spaceship is almost ready to be picked up from the maintenance shop?

I hope you enjoy these photos.

Thanks

Patrick

It looks very sharp Patrick, you have done an amazing job on the boat, the style is not really my "cup of tea" but your model does do the full size one justice.

That's a spectacular finish Patrick.  Nevermind Luke and his offsiders, keep your maintenance shop locked as I may just be tempted to sneak in and blast it with my 'enlarger' gun and make off with a new toy :)

cheers

Patrick, really cool work! The detail is inspired.

Did i miss the ice bucket with champagne, , or are you waiting for the official launch? :champagne:

-Josh

Hi Josh - Thanks.  The champagne’s on ice, pending a few more details like the engine room and lower deck that needs completion.  Once they’re done...whoohoo!  Champers time😊

Hi Michael - Thanks heaps for the compliments.  I must admit that even I look at the hull sometimes and I still can’t quite believe that I did it.  Talk about a ‘challenge’...definitely not for the faint hearted, that’s for sure.

To the King of Itty Bitty scale:

The sleek yacht is beautiful. Excellent workmanship. Her lines are very pleasing to the eye.

Marcus

Current Built: Zeehaen 1639, Dutch Fluit from Dutch explorer Abel J. Tasman

Unofficial motto of the VOC: "God is good, but trade is better"

Many people believe that Captain J. Cook discovered Australia in 1770. They tend to forget that Dutch mariner Willem Janszoon landed on Australia’s northern coast in 1606. Cook never even sighted the coast of Western Australia).

Hi Dave.  Great to hear from you again!  The launch and festivities aren’t too far away; that is, as long as there aren’t any major boo boos along the way....

Hi folks!

Thanks for all of your Likes and comments.

A quick update for you on Genesis. Last night, I painted the first coat of matt red paint below the waterline. The painting of the rest of the hull and superstructure is still progressing, but will require several more applications of wet and dry sandpaper and  paint, before I’m satisfied with it.

Have a great week.

Cheers

Patrick
