First time ever joining a group. So hello good to be here. I’m a from Maryland. I joined since very recently my ships were all destroyed in a house fire that has also destroyed my house. I will be out a year so was looking to start rebuilding to have something to do in my rental place and to replace the woodworking I was doing.  I lost my America (solid hull), Swift, Chesapeake Skipjack and Baltimore clipper Roger Taney that was ready for spars and rigging.  I joined to get more tips and techniques for building kits for now.

Well, when you pick a kit, open a build log.  It's a good way to get help and meet folks.  Also ask questions, if need be in logs for the same kits.

Sorry to hear this.  I am glad that all occupants got out safely.  There is a wealth of knowledge on MSW that will help you when you pick a kit to build.

Welcome and good luck with the rebuilding project. The big thing is that everyone (and the critters) made it. Maryland has so much history, and I'm a bit partial to the working boats I saw in the bay, especially the crabbers. Perhaps you have visited the museum at The Solomans? It is a great source of inspiration. We look forward to seeing what you build next.

Welcome on board from a relative newbie to MSW, and sorry to hear about your fire....glad you got out unharmed.  Love your Jolly Boat and your work with the sails.  I just finished the Jolly Boat as my first build and have begun the Joitka/Caldercraft Granado bomb vessel. I am enjoying the build and the quality of the kit so far, so good, and looking at the other builds and talking to the members is inspirational.  Cheers!
