Evening all,   next on the "Waterloo  conveyor belt"   -  a French  Cuirassier  officer  resplendent with his  plume,  he is made along with his stead  - next will be the paint layers.

That is so nice of you to say EG,   I guess like all things in modeling  - the more practice we get  - the better we achieve things, kind of  pick up from mistakes  from before, I also have a better routine  for painting now   - before I used to paint directly from the bottle/pot of paint  wiping  the excess  on the rim,   now I use a flat dish  and just put in a few  drops of paint off the brush  and dilute with distilled water as required, that way I am able to get thinner layers down.

Thank you kindly,    there is Plenty more to come yet   - when I start on the building (next year)   then the Real diorama  building will start, the farm buildings  come in a kit  its an MDF  kit that needs putting together and painted, I will also be working on creating a base  with simulated  grass, trees  and a stone road  (I have read  sand paper makes good roads when painted).

OC, while I like the alliteration you used, Ekis is correct. My given name has no Latin language equivalent. In my high school Spanish class, I used my middle name, James or Jaime in Spanish. Kenneth is pretty pure Celtic Irish or Scottish. The Scots had a King or two by that name. The Irish version, Kainnet or Canice, was supposedly an Irish member of St Columba's disciples on Iona. Alexandre or Denis would be a better name for M. Cuirasier. 😁

You may have to take the King's Shilling and enrol in one of the Highland regiments instead Ken😊.

I shall  jump straight back into this  tomorrow  and do some more KGL  infantry,    trying to get my head round  if I can change the stance of a few of them, as  a few (well more than a few)  were  lying on the slanted roofs, and there are no figures in that stance  in my stash  - will have to see what I can do.

Good  choice, the Connaughts were first through the breach at Badajoz, but if you wanted to ride a horse maybe you could consider the Enniskillen Dragoons.

I think with my Scottish heritage I'd be in the 92nd Gordon Highlanders as that is my surname 😉 I'd quite like the kilt😂🙄

Hmm, the Dragoons would be a good choice. I had considered reenacting a US Cavalry staffer at Gettysburg. Had the horse, but needed the rest of the gear. And time, which Uncle Sam was pretty stingy about allowing time off. The Cav at Gettysburg was in at the start, under Buford, northwest of that town, slowing the Rebs advancing on Gettysburg. And they were in there at the end, est of town with Custer and Stuart in one of the bigger cavalry clashes so far in that war. I'm a fan and student of the Cav in that war.
