I have the  Hms Diana partially  build, which I am unable to continue with. I have added photos of how far I have reached on the build. I stopped my build at the near end of coppering the Hull which I was unhappy with. Anyway I have added some photos which will show how things stand at the moment. Please message me if you are  interested.  I have it for sale for £250 and the buyer needs to collect  uk only.    Thank you DAVID

So sorry you are not going to complete the one David

Upon looking at the portion of the hull where the copper plating is showing, it looks really good, but it also appears to be peeling away from the hull. If this is the case, did you seal the hull first before plating it? I always sell the hull with a few coats of poly or varnish before plating, the plating will not stick very well to bare wood.

No I did not seal the hull you are correct. I have taken a strip of photos along the hull and I am pretty happy with it. It’s the best I can manage at a dithery 77year old 🙁🙁 lol.    Thanks a lot. Regards DAVE

David, my best wishes for you. I'm almost 75 and feeling a sense of urgency to complete my model projects. Unfortunately, time is an unkind master for all of us.

Amen to that, Keith.  I'm there also but still fighting.  The mind says I'm still 20ish.. the body says "bull".

Well, your model looks pretty darn good to me. I hope it finds a good home.

I'm 75 and I've come to the conclusion that that time defies the laws of physics and does indeed go faster the older we getting. Hell, it's flying now!

Greetings all

And thanks for all your reply’s and likes, alas only a little interest. I have just tonight arrived home from a prostate cancer operation, which I think has gone  pretty  well. I said to my son I will never finish the Diana., So he bought me Chucks Mayflower which he said should keep me happy for a while. I assembled all the bulkheads last week and will maybe start a log next week, let’s  see how it goes. The Diana goes into the loft, and remains there for anyone who is ever interested. or maybe give it free in time to some one on the site who I believe in my opinion deserves it not for build logs, but for their input over a lot of years on the site, and l  have noted pretty often , but not someone who makes offers. It’s silly for it to go to waste, but if it does sell for £150 the money would be donated to MSW ......regards   DAVID

David, may you heal quickly and completely. Hopefully your Mayflower build keeps you joyfully occupied.

Hi David,

Diana, was always on my "wish list", but was always considering it a "retirement" project, but your wise words are a reminder we can't take the future for granted, so I am very much interested, a very generous offer.

I will PM you, I live only an hour or so down the A1 from you.

Wishing you all the very best for the future following your operation.

Kind regards,

Andrew

Alright Andrew, way to go brother. Hopefully you will get the honor of bringing the Diana to all of her glory and on the plus side, David can visit the Diana when you get her finished since you both live relatively close. The HMS Victory that I built about 5 years ago and donated to my local Library, was more for me than the library because I get to visit the Vic when ever I want without having to find a place to display it. I visit the Vic quite often with the excuse of making sure there is no lines or glue that came loose that I will need to fix.
