No bluegills?  Possibly because the pike ate most of them and rest were hiding.

So with the lower ratlines  finished on the port side , a little cleaning up of the ship yard is needed. Today I only got to tie 189 clove hitches, 190 if you count the do-over lol.  Absolutely in heaven here, On to the starboard side tomorrow.

Best day ever for ratlines, 294 clove hitches in five hours. One came untied so a  dab of the glue fixed it.

I started using a white pencil to mark the ratlines.  After making the spacer,  and holding it on with one hand drawing the white line with the other, then it's just a matter of tieing them on.

But not today, yep going to a hockey game.  Well upstairs  on the big screen 😆 🤣

 Thanks for looking in.

Great tip, Bob. The Astrolabe is looking really really sharp and those ratlines are fantastic. 294 clove hitches in five hours? Clove Hitch Bob doesn't have the same ring to it as Deadeye Bob does but dang! I can't even count to 294 in five hours. :)

Funny, I have never caught a bluegill in Manitoba!  They're supposed to be in rivers and streams on the other side of Lake Manitoba.  Maybe all those pike are gobbling them up!  🤣

Making great progress on the cannons, I have them all stowed away, waiting for the voyage to the Artic. I played with the Tampions, I put them in but no pull chains to tiny. But they are a conversion piece. Lol20250317_164630.thumb.jpg.4c980caeff79caf9f659bedeb585b0ff.jpg

Belive me the picture makes the Tampions apear larger than they really are

So now that they are stowed  I will be turning my attention to the  crowsfeet lines. But not tonight, yes you guessed it  curling lol. I could use the break from rigging cannons anyway  lol

Talk soon , thanks for peeking at the old barge.

An attempt was made at the making of the  euphroes blocks for the crowsfeet lines....  And a call to my favorite 3-D printer was made lol. I get them in a week 🤪.  Now that all the masts are painted and installed, I have no room left in the shipyard lol.

20250318_150540.thumb.jpg.b508330e2f66eee85df4f800e5441762.jpg

I  may try putting it into this display case it will be to only thing in the case thats for sure. I had it in there before but not sure it will  fit back in

after the yards are installed.  We will see.

Totally agree with Keith.  Like I said in a post on my build log, Bob works at warp speed!  Amazing indeed!!

Thank you for your like my friends.  Today I managed to make up the forestays all 17, which is about 18 feet of served # 1.3 rope. I guess I did put it into warp drive, the handle came right off my server machine  lol.

20250320_163657.thumb.jpg.27c3f3dbdfce018863552e18dd0e6703.jpg

I did get to the last of the serving before it broke. So I glued it all back together and put it away for awhile.

20250320_164551.thumb.jpg.5da30fb0cb2c8c8f663f427b1283a9c2.jpg

I find standing is the best for working on the Astrolabe.

20250320_163126.thumb.jpg.bd1b7587903c49a692cc3772a5e78ed2.jpg

All the forestays are served and run, now I have to tie them up and seizing the ends. Then it is off to do the 17 back stays which are tied off to deadeyes. By that time I should be ready to do the crowsfeet lines, parts are on order for them pick up on Thursday  lol.

After serving 18 feet of line I am happy there is a hockey game tonight 😀 😄

Stays tune for updates lol. Thank you all for showing me that  " This is the Way"

to build models. I will be for ever grateful  Thanks 😊
