pete48 Posted June 23, 2014 Author #211 Posted June 23, 2014 Today , I got the trim package stained ( rub rail & toe rail) I then painted the waterline on the Rudder ( Gloss White ) and the Spreaders ( flat White ) I installed the Rub rails first followed by the Toe rails , I then installed the fore and aft Cockpit trim . Then I was able to get 3 coats of Epifanes varnish on all the trim, Almost ready for rigging and Ballast. I used small fishing weights ( the round ones ) filled the bilge where the lead for the Keel is . Then I put her in the water tank ( kitchen sink ) The water line is right on the money, This boat has been a pleasure to build . The most suitable bits that I found useful were the lightest weight spinnaker cloth. Not only was it light, but, because of its weight and flexibility, I found that they always looked realistic and drew beautifully when under way. ( one of my favorite parts of a build ) I started by trimming the back deck and installing it . I then made doors for the Bow and Stern cockpit lockers. I then stained and installed them. Next I moved to installing the chain plates for the shrouds ( I found these beading parts at michael's wich are perfect) I drilled holes at the chain plate locations and installed them with epoxy. next was attaching the turnbuckles . I also started making the 2 cleats for the mast. I also started making the double block for the main sheet. in the pic you can see the beading part I used for the chain plate base's. I also installed the rudder with epoxy .
