G'day Marsalv

You are working hard to make the "sawdust". It would drive me crazzzzy to make them! Did you say 8000? Wow that's a lot of treenails! After that is done, you have to drill the hull and then place them! See you in a few months at least.

havagoodtime my mate!

OK, silly question:

The treenails look like they are still attached at the bottom. How are you removing them from the wooden block.

Thanks to all. The idea for making treenails with needle is not mine, I learned this method from russian modelers :) .

To rtropp: see enclosed picture - front side of the block with treenail is covered with masking tape, block is cuted off with saw. After removing tape you can easily eject treenails from the block.

After endless hours I finished the hull treenailing. Result will be more visible after waxing.

This is the first time I've peeked into your Pandora build log, and I have to say I'm impressed with your start.  I will surely follow along.  The Porcupine class vessels really do have nice lines.  It's too bad there aren't any drawings showing more than minimal stern decorations of those ships as completed.

I notice you've left gaps in the planking for the rails. You may find bending them around the bow difficult. Usually the rails are applied over the planking: much easier to bend. Your model looks terrific so far.
