  1. JP, belt A is looking good and smooth. The position of your next batten looks good too. I also agree with you on mahogany; it looks great but isn't the easiest wood to work with. The counter will look great though.
  2. Sjors, the progress is looking good. The doors look clean and the metal has good profile and curve to it.
  3. Now we're all caught up. The furled sail looks very nice. Your rigging is excellent as well and the color really matches up well with the weathering. It looks like you'll be done in no time so have you given any thought to your next project?
  4. Bob, I'm happy to see you on the website again. Your build log was invaluable both as an inspiration and a practical guide.
  5. That is looking good Sjors! Question though... with all the big talk about starting another war, hadn't you better arm your ship just in case?
  6. Popeye, it's good to see you back online again. This was a great build you were working on and I look forward to watching it grow.
  7. You almost have this up to current now, don't you? I do remember some rigging being worked on before the upgrade though. Again, it's incredible about the weathering you do on your Supply.
  8. That is an ingenious method for making cleats. I am definitely going to be trying that out next time I need to make some.
  9. Robert, I'm glad you're online with your Niagara. Your build is looking very clean. I'd like to follow along to the finish line.
  10. Well... I'm off to a great start on my main mast. I have the course yard completely mounted and secured with rigging. The other yards are pretty simple and they will be very easy to secure because I have installed pins on them to locate precisely onto their respective spots on the main mast. This idea comes from Mark, so many thanks to him. I have my shrouds rigged and will be rigging the ratlines next. Cue the bourbon and The Doors...
  11. Larry, check out the Niagara by Bahama Diver. Some of his pictures show exactly the area of the stern that you are working on. It looks like the profiles of the corner filler blocks match the horn timbers.
  12. I don't know what I'd do about a stern for my Niagara then. Guess that'd be my problem though, huh? When I get home from work I'll take a look at things and see if I can remember tackling that. Maybe there are some other opinions out there?
  13. Larry, I believe the profile of the corner filler blocks should match the horn timbers on the counter and ceiling. I do remember that those filler blocks were a royal PITA. I feel like there is something I'm not remembering completely though. It'll make more sense when I get home and look at my plans and compare to my Niagara.
  14. Larry, It's good to see this log back up. I'll be happy to weigh in with advice on your stern.
  15. If you do half as nice a job on this as you did on your Phantom, this will be a great looking Mayflower.
  16. That's a great looking Connie. It doesn't appear that you used the coppering method in the kit. What did you use for your copper bottom?
  17. Jan, if we put this to a vote then I'm sure everyone would agree that you should finish her. It doesn't look like you have much further to go on Prins Willem and she is looking great!
  18. Hi Mobbsie. It's good to see you back online with your enormous model of the Aggie. We're all looking forward to updates.
  19. Robert, the HMS Mars has never looked better. Your choice in replacement lumber has really paid off on an excellent looking build. I'll be following along to the end with this log.
  20. Augie, I'g glad to see the Syren back online. This is one of those ships that are in my list. I've got a soft spot for American sailing warships and this one will definitely eat up some of my time some day.
