You're doing great with the carronade tackle Norway...patience is the key here haha. But it seems you are handling it pretty well. Nice set-up with the tweezers in the vise 👍

The decision about how to paint the ship mainly lies with the skipper, especially if you pay the paint out of your own pocket. Some Admiralty instructions existed and certain details seem quite clear, such as the Nelson chequer in its time, but others aren't - even if contemporary paintings or models exist. The artist may have used some artistic freedom. So may you and as skipper of your Pickle you may paint as seems logical or as you like. Of course you still have to respect eventual Admiralty wishes or instructions.
I whitewashed the inside of the companionway too to reflect some more light into the dark interiors and because sources mention whitewashing. Additionally the skipper will keep his crew clean and proper for their health and that also reduces dirtying of the paintwork.
And I liked it better that way.
Cheers
Peter
Great explanation Peter! 👍

Looks great😊👍
Did you choose white because of a particular reason? Looks fine though.

Excellent work and finish!
Question... When rigging the carronades, do you make the chesse wheels before threading or after and make then on the deck.
Thanks!
Afterwards...first rigging the whole thing and then separately I make the cheese wheels with the method that is described in the manual. That was some trying, but at some point you get the hang of it. So not on the deck, but on a piece of tape first.

Those are straight from the kit
I will keep things pretty standard from the kit with this build. First goal is to finish a ship😂

It depends if the ship is moving or in port. Have in mind that copper on a moving ship is not green under water but copperish pink. It get's green when e.g. being in a dry dock for a long time. Kinda same with bronze.
cheers
Dirk
Ah tnx! I think I'm going for the dry dock look.
-
so they would be blackish green due to the oxidation in the water?
-
Tnx Peter! I saw it in your build that you painted the hinges copper. I considered it, but I still doubting if I'm painting it copper. Because the actual copper is aging with time. So there is going to be a colouring difference. I think I'm deciding it at the end of the build. Then I can mix maybe the colour right to match the coppering. Thanks for the compliments and tips!
