  1. Oh yes, I have a thing for frigates of this period so I too will be pulling up a chair. If the build quality of Winchelsea comes out as well as Cheerful or Hayling this should be one awesome model. Mike, two models going at once? Did you retire? Why cherry wood and how did you get it laser cut? Did you consider any other woods, like Castello boxwood or Swiss pear? On Chuck's Syren website I didn't see any Winchelsea parts in the laser cut section. Do you have a special arrangement with him to build a prototype of what he will offer in the future?
  2. Wow! Who cares if you don't speak English. Your modeling ability speaks volumes for itself. I absolutely love the carvings. First rate .... the ship and your work!

  5. Oh wow! This build is truly inspirational. When I think you can't outdo yourself any more I'm shown that I'm mistaken. Tom
  6. I've run out of superlatives to describe your work, so I've decided to stop reiterating the same praises you've heard a million times. Instead I will simply thank you for sharing your build with us in photographs. I appreciate the gift. Tom
  7. Mike, why would you mill wood for your model if you don't know what species it is? Tom
  8. Well done Mike! I've really enjoyed following your progress these last two years. Now that Cheerful is finished what's next? Tom

  11. Mike, what a beautiful job you're doing on this model. Gorgeous! I hope to see your Cheerful close up some day. Are you going to show it at the tri-state meeting in New London, Ct. this year? I believe that's where they usually have it. Right?
  12. Nice job Chuck! Thanks for all the great instruction in your build log. It's a wonderful gift to the model ship building community. Tom
  13. From the photo you can't tell they are made from wood. They look GREAT! It's an interesting way to make anchors; a construction method I wouldn't have thought of using, but one I will certainly consider in the future. Very nice! Tom
  14. It's always nice to check in to see what new things you have done on your model. Your work is ALWAYS of the highest caliber. Stellar! Tom
  15. It's a beautiful little model. While I enjoyed following its construction I'd be lying if I said I wasn't glad that you're now finished with it. I'm anxious to see you pick up where you left off on HMS Winchelsea. Tom
  16. Very nice job on the table Mike. It's a nice addition. I love it when we get to see the improvements model builders make to their work area(s). Thanks. Tom
