  1. G'day Mark Pete has said it all. Ditto from me. Your RW is pinnacle of all RW builds. As I said before your log is a must see for anyone whom is thinking of building a RW from Euromodel. Well done and I am looking forward for your next 'little update'. Keep them coming Havagooday my friend Greg
  2. G'day Patrick Shadow is gunna be a very classy looking ship. I wish I had the money to buy one myself! The way that you have joined the decking together even now, shows us all how accurate your model is and is going to be. Can't wait for your creative decking layouts to come and all those 'touches' you do. Havagooday mate Greg
  3. G'day Vince Been away for a period of time with some personal problems. I'm slowly getting back to read the logs that I've missed. You're going great guns and the canons are excellent. As Pete said. It's a very fiddly and time consuming part. Well done on a great job! You are correct when you said Pete was a guru! I don't think any model shipwrite wouldn't use his guide to help them, when it comes to the more intricate model such as the RW. I for one, I'm glad to have him with us, when I need his advice and encouragement. Thank you Pete. Havagooday Greg
  4. Thanks Pete Now it makes sense to me! All the best to you and Mark. It's good to have infopersondia..(my new word) when one's really need it. Havagooday Greg
  5. G'day Mark i agree with Pete. The fine and very delicate touches that you are doing, makes the model one of a kind! sorry I've been away, have been trying to catch up all of the incredible logs in MSW like this one. Your canons are also showing your usually high standards. Sorry to ask though, Should the bell tower be a bit taller? To me it looks a bit squatty. Havagooday my friend Greg
  6. G'day Patrick Just catching up on various logs I'm amazed again at what you can do. Keep up the great minute work and congratulations on a mile stone completing the hull. Now the fun part starts with the internal works. Havagooday mate Greg
  7. G'day Cristi Thanks for that information about the 2418. I agree with Mark that you should build a box around it and have an exhaust system fitted. Does the 2418 has both a Lazer as well as milling head attached? And is it a USB interface? I've been looking into the 2030 and it appears that it only comes with a parallel port interface, but I think I can throw away the parallel port interface and get an USB one to replace it. It means that I have to spend extra $200 for this. I'm now looking into what software that can run it. Still surfing the net for my answer! Havagooday to all Greg
  8. G'day Mark What I've seen in my research it can machine brass as a computer input, so you can in theory of multiple brass canons etc. It also can do aluminum and mild steel to wood. It can also carve in 3D wood carvings if you can input into the program. I think it can also cut out frames for hull construction etc. The cutting router can use as small as 0.8 mm bit. I personally is learning to get one for 'Christmas' if I'm a good boy, that is. Havagooday to all Greg
  9. G'day Antony and wacko. Thanks you first your information. Wacko, what do you mean when you said "Mach 4"? Is it an upgraded version? Havagooday my friends Greg
  10. G'day Nils Sorry that I haven't been in contact with you for long time. I had a few family's crisis and hadn't ad much time to do any postings. Mate, you have done and incredible job and my eyes were picking from my head with amazement as I was going through your log. Well done memitting! Havagooday Greg
  11. G'day Pat Congrat6on a bloody marvelous job on the HMS ENDEAVOUR. She's a beauty and you ought to be very proud of her. What's 10 years mate? At least it's done and covered. Again well done! BTW what's your next endeavor into the model ship building? (Hoped that you like my pun!). Why not do the Royal William? She's a beautiful ship. Havagooday mate Greg
  12. G'day all I wonder has any of you heard about, used or own a CNC 3020 4 axis router as per this link? You can look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/291691489649 To me, it looks quite good for the price and it could be quite handy to do some of the fiddly routing jobs. I'll be very interested in know what the more experience guys (and ladies) think of this tool. Havagooday to all my fellow friends out there. Greg [
  13. What a brilliant idea Nenad! That one will definitely be entered into my memory vault. This, is what this post is all about. Again brilliant, simply brilliant. A thank you to Mark for pushing you to show us your idea. Havagooday Greg
  14. G'day Mark You got a knack of making a difficult job look easy. Great job on the spiral staircase! If I can put my money worth in, I would leave the inner balustrade on. Bugger the other models! It's yours and you are doing a superb job what ever you decide to do. Havagooday Greg
  15. G'day Mark Been away for a month or so. Time to catch up and I must say that your ship is getting better every day. The detail that you have done is going to be my Bible when I do my own RW. Don't need to say 'keep up the great work ' because I know that you will. havagooday my friend Greg
  16. G'day Danny My admiral and I wish you all the best with the chemo and good luck with the results. Havagooday Greg
  17. G'day Patrick Why not gold? Gold is a symbol of wealth and THAT ship is also a symbol......so why not use both? She's coming along great mate and maybe once, if I dare say it, thus build will be stuff up free! Now I jinx you! Sorry about that! Havagooday Greg
  18. G'day Mark I 'havta take my hat off to you', your patience and perseverance has shown through again with another example of pure excellence. You have risen the benchmark on all RW build and may have given some the encouragement to start their own. Can't wait for the next installment. Havagooday Greg
  19. G'day Patrick There's one thing about Western Ozzies, that make them smart over there. Very impressive my dear mate. It must have taken you days and days to plank a HUGE hull! Using the balsa mold twice is a stroke of genius! THAT IDEA WILL GO INTO MY MEMORY VAULT. Havagooday Greg
  20. Thanks Patrick As brilliant idea mate. It's like killing two birds with a stone.(Australian saying). Havagooday Greg
  21. Lookingood Patrick I've got a question though! Are you using that mold at make the hull inside it, or you going to smooth the outer surface and use that as the hull? I hope you understand my daft question. Happymodelling my friend Greg
  22. G'day Patrick shes look like a very interesting build. I'll be in the front row as well. It's look like mate, your front row we reach from Perth to Sydney. I hope that you will have fun doing it, because we will definitely have fun watching on. Havagooday Greg
  23. G'day Mark Been away for a while due to personal reasons. What a difference! The only words I can say would be mind boggling and incredibly fantastic. Did you say that you were going at a snail pace? It's more like supersonic if you ask me. I would say that the areas that you have completed would be bloody difficult and a lot of 'grey matter' must have been used to get everything so spot on. The port and starboard sides decorations are the best that I have seen and your bow....there's are no words to express how good it looks. WELL DONE! Havagooday Greg
  24. G'day Danny Just catching up on missed logs. Been away for personal reasons for a few months or so. Bloody brilliant is an Ozzie term that just doesn't express my true thoughts. Thank you again for sharing this with us and also for your indepth logs. They are a true treasure trove of wisdom for me. Can't wait for your next masterpiece. Havagooday Greg
  25. G'day Mark Beautiful job on the deck planking so far. Don't cover up that plaque.......it would be a SIN. Dumb question for you. Do the French ships use KING PLANKS (in the centre) which are thicker planks thank the rest, on the top deck like the English ships? If they do, what's the name of it? Havagoodone memattieee Greg
