Greetings, I finally had the time to work the photos I took of the Deck Edge assembly. First two of views are of the overall hull with the Deck Edge being glued from the stern forward to the bow. Cheers, Tim

Jean-Pierre, I din't read Russian, but this a close match of the kit you were looking at. The model is of a Dutch Botter, they were built the early1900's. The Dutch used botters, flat bottomed sail boats, as barges in the canals and the North Sea. They mostly fishing boat however they also carried cargo. The cargo they carried acted as the ballast. Running aground or having the tide go out was not an issue with the flat bottom. These boats have round, daggerboards mounted to each side of the boat. For their day they pointed well and could out sail the galleons of the era. Hope this gives you some background. They are neet little sailing craft! Artesania Latina has a 1/35th kit. http://design.mfpilot.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1807 Cheers, Tim

Wayne, I have a friend who built this model a few years back. It's really a nice kit. I believe you will to be very pleased with it. You have a shipyard overseer, they can be reasoned with at times. I happen to fall under an Fleet Admiral, and it's much harder to negotiate terms with them. Looking forward to seeing this one take shape! Cheers, Tim

Hey Dave, You will have to wait until the April meeting, as you recall the next meeting is the auction. I did plan on going to Cabin Fever in April but I think that's off for this year. I'll be sure to bring the PT to the April meeting! Tim

Tonight I was able to attach the port and starboard deck edges. It was a little tricky applying CA glue to 1/16 x 1/16" deck edges, as you know this isn't a very wide area. I applied glue to about an inch of deck edge at a time, then I positioned it and held it until it set, about 15 to 20 seconds. Photos to follow in a day or two! Tim

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
