Grant, Sometimes a foreign language is a curse, like now ... it makes you speechless for you do not find the proper words to show exactly the exhilaration on such marvelous feat of 'metal casting' or is it more like 'pulling a gun barrel' ... I'm stunned by awe ...

That last post would make a response to easy, Mick (LOL) Thanks, Chuck. I might have to study some plans more closely(!). You know what management does to people ... at least here in Holland we say: "They are incapable of any work, but get the biggest salary" (I would like to emphasise get in contrast to earn) Kurt, Nothing personal ...! Cheers

I thought you would do 1/2 a frame a day (keeps the doctor away) ... those enlargements make it 'sligtly' clearer ... the half frames are cut from 1 piece ? or are those made from multiple parts ...? if from a single piece, will you make frames from multiple pieces (4 or more)? Cheers,

Unfortunately, my magnifying glass doesn't work at that size ... WHERE IS THAT PINTLE PIN ... you have what age ...!?!?!? Goodness me, talking about small ... and soldering ... you did soft solder right, for hard solder would burn the pin for certain ... A magnificent job, extraordinairy size too .. well done Cheers,

So, the master carpenter is as blind as a bat ... ... it is increadible you still manage to make such crisp and tight fitting pieces, mate ... you must have a very sensitive touch ... ... in all honesty, the only thing I ccan think of why you use the visor ... because your eyse get tired from squeezing ... so far you haven't shown any indication you needed it !!! Again some very nice work ... am learning a lot from you and your build!!

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
