    Thank you very much Carl, I`ll be surprized myself what is cooking in the pot....., maybe some fish soup or stew... with thunny chunks... Am meanwhile thinking ahead about the decoration of the ship, think I`ll be going for some figures out of the maritime Greek Mythology, like dolphines, mermaids with starfish and Neptune / Poseidon, the mythology`s ocean god. Have chosen his head with long hairs and beard in resin as the rudder-head figure..... Nils Neptune / Poseidon out of the Greek Mythology (the figure is from De Agostoni, Italy ) guess whats cooking here.... will put a little paint on the figure head later...

    Thank you very much Bob and Keith, for your kind comments, much appreciated.... the stove is not shown on the plan, but I think the hungry crew should be able to cook themselves a warm meal at least once a day.... Nils

    Update : Made the stove for cooking on deck, but moved it under the sheltered deck, it will get a chimney through the deck above later on. Also for the doubts of those finding the rudder possibly a bit slim, I increased the width by 1,5 mm.... Nils

    Good morning Chris, thanks very much for looking in, am pleased you like it. The outcut in the planking on the port side stays open in order to give view to below deck. There will be some more fitting out there later on.... Nils

    Update : Gun arrangement..... I`ll probably have all the starbord guns pointinng outwards and rigged appropriately, the portside guns either tied, barrels up against the bulwark from inside, not ready for battle. So this portside will have cover-plugs for the gunports. I decided to provide small plugs with lions head, framed with the golden circle ring just like the starbord side. The lion head plugs are made from buttons for clothes. The plug outside was cut away and the remaining center (with lions head) glued to a short dowel. From that I made a mold for casting the remaining plugs in resin. The space between plug and outer ring gets a black shade coloring, and the removeable lions heads will be gold color.... Nils dummy bulwark planks with black shade, will be surrounded by the golden decore ring dummy of the stb. open gunport mould for the port gunport plugs this is where I found some suitable lions head "figures" in miniture diam. holding the plug dowel for making the mould, while the silicone cures dummy port side gunprts with removeable plugs closed towards the sea

    Many thanks Denis and Patrick, for your kind comments..... Denis, I`m pleased that the hull (in this status) finds your appreciation... Patrick, I`ve just been taking the rudder-width off the (enlarged) Amati Plan. These ship types must have had a good and sensitive respond to the rudder. Trust that the sail- and hull proportions provided her a well balanced lateral behaviour, so that the rudder need`nt be unnecessary wide. This is amazing, as approximately only 1/3 of the vertical ruder length is submerged (waterline) Nils

    Update : starting with the raw rudderblade, the tiller and checking out the geometry of the hinge points and how it can be assembled to the ship best.... Nils

    Hi Jason, thanks for looking in....and your compliment, yep, I was my self amazed how easy the planking is with this hull shape. I started up at the sheer line, working downward towards the keel. There were only two planks down at the keel I had to fit in after tapering them at both sides.... Nils

    Hi Antony, Thank you very much for your kind and good comment...., yes, I`ve been thinking of plain gold color for the decorations, but not yet of leaf gold, no experience with that so far, but I would like to learn the way of application. You`re definately right, it would look much nobeler than paint would do. Do you have experience with leaf gold plating such small objects ?, or perhaps with electro galvanic plating ? Nils
