Hello Michael, Thank you for looking in at my build. It is nice to see you here. I know, I know ..... You need more pictures and more progress. I promised to make no more excuses, but things have been quite hectic at work since the beginning of April. They started a big renovation of the entire office building. And we at reception were sitting there, trying to do our work while all around us the demolition work was going on, drilling in concrete, welding, sawing, milling, layers of dust and very nasty smells. After putting in a complaint they finally moved us to a quieter and cleaner workplace. We now share our workplace with the security. I'm free next week, so time and energy again for the Half Moon. Finally! Take care, Anja

Looking good Alex! Anja -
Hello Commodore, The HMS Peregrine is a beautiful ship to build. Have you cut the rabbet line yet? If not, maybe you can have a look in the articles/download section. The rabbet and bearding line are explained on page 4 http://modelshipworldforum.com/resources/Framing_and_Planking/plankingprojectbeginners.pdf You already learned the most important thing when it comes to model building, patience. Just take your time with the build and enjoy it. You are off to a good start and I am looking forward to your progress. Take care, Anja

Hello Alex, I'm glad the saw works. The strips are looking good. I have never heard of this being tried before. So I'm afraid I can't advise you on this. But putting a thin layer of glue on the hull instead of on the strip is a good idea. That will surely prevent the glue from getting on top of the strips. Good luck. Anja -

Hello Joe, You are welcome. It's good to hear you are well. Regards, Anja -
Hello Aldo, Thank for stopping by my friend. Your kind words are much appreciated. I like the headpanels too, they turned out great. I didn't made much progress lately, but the hull is stained. It is not quite what I expected. On the small pieces of scrap wood it turned out good, but it didn't came out that way on the hull. For now it looks ok. I let it rest and decide later if it needs another layer of stain. Take care, Anja

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
