  1. Thanks Popeye and Frank, @ Popeye, You are right. Every time when you put something on her after the painting, coppering ,planking she looks more and more as a living creature I hope she don't eat to much !!!!! @ Frank, It is really a lot of work but that's what I like. When I build only small ships I have now a BIG armada in the house and no place to live anymore..... And Anja has to dust all the time Opes, warning points !!!!!!! Sjors
  2. Thanks all, One thing is surprising me....... That you are thinking that I'm fast...... I thought I go slowly ! The deck furniture was all ready done for a while and was waiting in the finish box. I only have to put it in the right place..... From now it really goes slow. I want to finish the decorations on the transom before I go starting at painting the cannons and rig them.... Only 10 for the lower gun deck but still...... And then of course a touch up on all the paintwork around the ship..... But, no rush, I have time enough Sjors
  3. After 2 weeks vacation I have to go to work again..... The little free time that I had I have done something...... Deck furniture on the lower gun deck is placed like: Gratings, Stove, Ladders and beatings. And when i was waiting for some glue to dry, I have painted the windows for the transom and the quarter gallery's. And because the glue was not dry yet, I have place them in the frames. And because it's early dark, not the best pictures. I wanted to do it now otherwise you have to wait till wednesday or thursday...... Sjors
  4. Hi Grant, Tricky for the shiny or black bolts ..... I like both ways ! But....you're the Captain ! For me it looks good with what you are doing Sjors
  5. Rich, A few more ratlines to go. I know how you feel because I have done a few myself....... For me, I'll be doing 10 ratlines at the time and then take a break. Otherwise it goes wrong...... Sjors
  6. Wayne, You are silence for a while but when you are coming you have something ! Nice details with the net and blanket ! For the rest everything looks great. Well done so far SIR !! Sjors
  7. Gil, I follow you in silence and still impressed with what you are doing. When I take a look at the whole log I have a suggestion for you... When you are finished can you bring this log to a publisher ????? For me it should be a book that I want to have as a guide for my builds . Sjors
  8. Hi Bob, My question about the netting was premature Very nice !!!!!! It gives body at the model ! Sjors
  9. Thanks Mobbsie, I have to see when I'm starting at the rigging. Maybe I change it again on the bow ( the decorative piece ) But for now I leave it this way. But I can always send CC a e-mail about it. Sjors
  10. Thanks Mark, Piet and Bob, @ Mark, I know that every one has troubles with that. And now I know why !!!!!!! I wish I never knew it This is also the reason that I re-do it all the time..... For example....under the blue parts. There should be soft metal but when I say soft, I mean soft ! You have to turn and twist it in all kind of directions. After 3 times it wil break. So I have change it for wood and to be honest.....I will see what I have left on that metal at the end of the ride ( before I start with the rigging ) and maybe I give it another try with the metal. Sometimes it is better to stop with something and go further with some thing else. But I wanted to see a little bit of a result. @ Piet, Send us a bit of that blue please.... It's only gray , rainy and cold in Holland ! @ Thanks Bob Sjors
  11. Page 100 and a great update Augie !!!! It looks impressive...... Only the blocks at the first cannon ????? Good luck with that Tell your Admiral that we have still room enough to display her.... ( Now I have to run before Anja is reading this ) Sjors
  12. Hi Jason, I think a lot of kit makers are doing a lot of things the same with there kits. I've seen it also with OcCre. You just make one example and you can use it all the time. Much cheaper...... Thanks for the explanation about the round houses. I think you have a very long traffic jam when everyone wants to go to those houses Sjors
  13. Thanks Augie and Popeye and for the ones who found the like button The bow rails are level....I measure it with a water level....... And blue is my favourite colour so why not using it ?? And there where a lot of crew members on board. Maybe those roundhouses where for the officers ? The can just "trow" it over board Sjors
  14. I wanted to post pictures a few day's ago and when I see the pictures...... I don't want to do that ! A few all ready saying it and now I'm telling you this also. Pictures don't lie !!!!!!! So,I removed everything on the bow section and start all over again. Here is the end result of that. Sjors
  15. Very nice George !!!!!! It's gonna take a while before I'm to that..... Please, more pictures Sjors
  16. I'm sorry to see this Draggz....... Do you now have puppy for Christmas dinner ???? Just joking my friend ! A good lesson for you, CLOSE the door when you are leaving !!!!!!!!! I have write Santa a letter that you really want to have the Mare Nostrum kit as a present....... When you gonna build her again, you have more skills with that . So stay away for a hour of two out of the hobby room and continue with the other builds !!!!!! Sjors
  17. I think Jason is right !!!! You did this before...... Very nice Mobbsie ! And I like the bolts/nails. A few frames left....... Sjors
  18. Hi Rich, I have started coppering from the keel. First 3 or four rows before you get the gore line. When you take a look at Mobbsie's Agamemnon. he shows you clearly. Then at the waterline......you can place a little plank or tape to get the last row straight Hope this will help you a little. And no, I'll will not do it for you ....... Sjors
