Superb artistry skill set displayed here......and being a land lubber,... I find those seas fearsome and can feel the onset of sea sickness just by looking at them.

If I had just 10% of your skills I would be a very proud individual.

Hachette in Italy just anounced partwork "La Belle 1684":

if I understand correctly, "tecnica dell'arsenale" means "admiralty model"
... that looks fairly impressive! Is there an English version for the site offering more information?

I'm out in the hallway peeking thru the door often and enjoying this build... and I am intrigued by the photo etch parts and the skills needed to work with such tiny pieces!!! ....what puzzles me is how does one access all the nooks and crannies when it comes time to paint the vessel ?

Mike, I admire your tenacity with the questions surrounding the history of this vessel......I just stumbled across this log and your efforts are to be applauded. Looks like I've been out of the loop for a while but it's nice to see someone jump into the fray with another Euromodel kit. I agree with your commentary over the quality as well as the shortcomings offered by the Le Renommee kit and look forward to future collaboration as your build progresses.

Thanks Mike and Simon for the very kind comments. The likes are also very much appreciated. It is onto the bowsprit now as the rudder will be left 'till later (I knocked it off after carefully installing it a short time ago.) Just to be different I'm considering building and rigging only up to the first mast tops. I have other builds calling out to me......
