Oh, yes, Popeye - looking good, mate! But you'll need more lobsters than that to make that boat pay! John

That's a good link, but I've deleted the illustrations due to probable copyright issues. Members can see the illustrations in the article. John -

Crikey, Popeye! I get up in the morning and find that you've gone beserk with your model overnight! Just one thing with your sidelights - move the lamps to the back of the screens, otherwise they'll show the light too far abaft the beam. John

Popeye, Those little details can seem to take for ever when we're anxious to get on and finish things, but it's those small touches that really make the model. Keep it up, my friend! John

It's always a surprise to me just how big a sailing ship model looks when you first try the masts, Andy. Hope you've got a tall shelf space ready! John

Popeye, those sails are looking good, but is there any way you can get that rudder closer to the sternpost - that looks a fair gap there. John

How did I miss your update with your decking, Mark? That's looking really good. Do you wax the ends of your clamps to stop them sticking, or rely on Lady Luck? John

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
