  1. I'll have to follow your build. An anchor hoy is one of the boats on my long list. Bob
  2. What a great fleet. What I want to know is, where did you get that machine used in the movie, "Honey I Shrunk the Boats"? Bob
  3. Thanks All. No it will not be weathered. I am building it as it is in the opening overhead picture. It was a Coast Guard boat during WWII and I don't think they would have put up with dirt and rust. So even the bumps scrapes and dents will be painted and clean. Bob
  4. Yes, it feels good when it all comes together the right way. Well done. Bob
  5. In that picture I like the way the ropes are hanging on the belaying pins. I suspect that is the way it really was except during inspection. Bob
  6. Nice props. I've always used brass, now I'll have to try styrene. Bob
  7. I buy the three foot dowels. I find some warped in the bin but the straight ones I buy stay straight. Bob
  8. As we say each part is a model of its own. So I made the model of the pilot house. As I’m typing this I realize I still need to add the navigation lights. But here are the pictures. Bob
  9. Good find on the wire. Just because it doesn't say it's hobby supplies doesn't mean it won't work. Bob
  10. Thanks Mark. One more deckhouse to go and it's the CO's quarters. I've got to do good on that one. Bob
  11. It's been a fun / Frustrating build so far. It's all about what to do next - but not too soon. Bob
  12. Thanks Popeye, I'm glad I don't have a time limit. Bob
  13. That was the hardest part for me also. In looking back at my build of the Lettie G Howard I'm sorry I didn't have better pictures of how it went together or a better write-up but I hope these pictures might help. http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/topic/4692-lettie-g-howard-schooner-by-capnbob-148-pob-complete/?p=158749 It really is a matter of throwing away the plans and just making it look right. Bob
