  1. Try your local hardware store. If they don’t have it McMaster Carr has it. They call it: 1008 Carbon Steel—Black-Oxide Finish .014 dia. http://www.mcmaster.com/#metal-wire/=sltk0h
  2. Bob, that is quite a story. I thought I heard late last year that she had been moved to dry-dock. There are so many stories about her present state that it is hard to know the truth. I also thought it should have gone to Pearl Harbor where she would be at home. Arkansas probably got her due to some political favor. I still hope to build the City of Oakland someday but there are many others to build first. Thanks for the letter. Bob
  3. I like that method of caulking. It’s nice and crisp. I used it on my dragon deck. Bob
  4. What an interesting concept of using clay in this way. It should work beautifully. That’s really thinking “outside the box”, or is it “inside the hull”. Oh, well. Can’t wait to see the drawings happen. Bob
  5. Great idea on the spring. I’ve seen a lot of static boats with sagging rigging that could use that idea. Bob
  6. I don’t know how I missed this build for so long. But I’m here now to admire and learn from your fantastic skills. Thanks for sharing. Bob
  7. Where did you find the gnomes and elves you hired to build at that scale? They are doing a great job. If I were you I'd keep them around. Bob
  8. I have a skipjack on my list of, "To be built," boats. I'll be watching. Bob
  9. I know that I'd have a hard time working on this cutter with the 20 ftr in the shed. Bob
