Welcome to MSW, Peter. I suggest you open a log on your current project. -
Thanks, Glenn. I think I've got the right position at this point or at least "close".

Not that much done today but enough.. a bit more work later to be done later this evening. The counter has been soaked and pinned (but not glued). I wondering if this in right position . Feels (mentally) like I"m too far astern and it needs to in the direction of the arrow.

Starboard side is done. Did the finger test* on both sides and I'm pretty happy. I also trimmed up the stern area, fitted the counter to test and it's now soaking to be bent and secured into place. I'll pull the blue tape off tomorrow. *Finger test: close eyes, run finger tips over hull.

Hello from the foothills in North Carolina

Doesn't really matter as such as software of the site will make them fit if too big. I use a 1500 pixel width. Others may use something different. -
Welcome to MSW, Richard. Your log looks to be an interesting build. As for log here for RC control, just do a search using the key word "radio" and checking the box "content titles only"..

My local hobby shop when I bought my paints for Sphinx had some Model Master paints but hadn't received any for months. Apparently its supply chain issue or they've stopped making them. I've heard you can use enamel for the base and then acrylic for the top coat... or maybe it's the other way around. I'm using only acrylics as enamels are a pain what with turpentine, odor, etc.

Port side is pretty much done sanding. Feels smooth to the touch. Lessons re-learned.... do a better job planking. Maybe add some filler between bulkheads in any area with curves (bow mainly). Now to start the starboard side. I may rip off a few planks and re-lay them. Note to self... check and re-sand and recheck again the stern transom area.

Looks to be a fascinating project, Richard. And a big one. If you would, open an intro in our new member introduction area. It's basically a "meet and greet" area. https://modelshipworld.com/forum/3-new-member-introductions/

Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. G/H by CDW - Ryefield - 1:35 - PLASTIC

Egilman is onto something here that might work. Get another one. Leave off or cut away the top of hull on the second one. Or... battle damage. Catch is, in most cases the worst appearance was the turret blow off, sometimes sitting at an odd angle or off the the side. Hmmm.... more brain storming... don't glue the top hull to the lower. Make it removable. -
Big barrels for wine and foodstufs... small ones for brandy or other distilled spirits. I'll make a note.....

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
