Sorry about the flying blade mishap.   Not fun at all.  BTW, they do make gloves and finger protectors for working with food.  They're washable also.

And the Kraken says "bottoms up..... cheers".

"Pretty rough"?????  I don't think so. 

I have two... a Proxxon and a MicroMark. Both are hand held. The Micromark is wider than the Proxxon and requires their power supply to operate it.  Both work well.  For most purposes, I use the MicroMark version as I find the Proxxon is a bit unwieldy for many tasks.

I also have a belt/disk combo but I really wouldn't say it's all that portable.

Well, the "old" set is/was probably better than the newer ones.  I still have enough bits to last for several years.

The second one in Bob's post showing the photos is the one I have.  Possible and even most likely that the current offering is different from the one I bought many moons ago.  To me, it's still useful as there has been a need at times for the less used bits. I've used them in pin drills, dremel type, and a mill.

Stevinne, at one point Model Expo offered a wooden box with like 20 different microdrills sizes.  There were 10 of each size.  I don't know if they still offer it but it was good value for the money and I have yet to wear out or loose the bits.

I love that view from the deck.  It must be hard to work out there with that scenery.

I've found I don't use my lathe all that much complared to tools like my mill, jig saw, and mini-table saw.   However, I would recommend once or even before you buy to go here: https://www.littlemachineshop.com/Products/product_new.php and go to the "Learning Center" tab.  And also here:  https://www.mini-lathe.com/mini_lathe/introduction/introduction.htm     It will give some serious knowledge on the care and feeding of these machines.

Welcome to MSW, Vaidas.  We do have more than a few card builders here so feel free to open a log in the kit area.  It's great way to meet others and get help as needed.

I agree with Allan. Also a couple more of the ship itself.   I don't see a spritsail mast in the photo.  It sits at the extreme forward end of the bowsprit.  There's more than a few masting pieces that look like that.

I totally agree with Jaager.   Begin at the beginning has untold advantages.  And open on a log when you start.
