  1. Super nice work, Grant. They really do look a lot bigger than they are with all the crisp work you're doing.
  2. Mike, Just go back to each post and hit "edit". You'll have to delete the pictures that are missing (thumbnails by "choose file") and also delete the associated photo name in the text. Then re-upload them.
  3. Don, Looks to be a fascinating project. I hope you don't mind if I follow along. On your posting problem, have a look here: http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/540-how-to-add-pictures-in-your-posts-and-pms/ I hope this helps.
  4. Here's the solution: http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/1006-in-need-of-shipyard-workers-or-boats-crewmembers/ Also: http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/6276-matching-human-railroad-figures-to-warship-scale/
  5. It would appear that it's Doreltomin's turn to post... Spyglass has final say since it was his ship picture.
  6. See: http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/6346-photos-not-showing/ Yon may not be aware of the problem and only he can fix it in his log.
  7. Uh-oh.. it is madness then? I thought it was normal and very Zen to talk to it. I think I need to see a Psycho.... er... Psychologist. On second thought, if this is insanity... I'm happily there.
  8. Slog, That doesn't often work and the more intrepid players alter the pic... remove background, flags, etc.
  9. Foxy, I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. Are asking if we use Photobucket to store our pics on the site? That answer is "no". MSW has it's own system.
  10. I believe those aren't portholes as we know them. Those are probably air ports to allow air into the junior officer quarters on the berth deck. Constellation has/had them also. If I recall correctly, there's a wooden plug that goes in the opening to seal it in bad weather.
  11. Have a look here: http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/384-where-to-buy-wood/
  12. So Augie... wood or sculpy for the bricks? Enquiring minds and all that.....
  13. Go for it... I'm curious what you'll come up with.
  14. Looks good, Matti. The only concern I would have is the split opening at the top. The stress of the shrouds and lanyards might cause the deadeyes to pop loose.
  15. Nice work on the furniture, Augie. I'm loving the colors and workmanship. Hmm.. brickwork... you can cheat.. goto the hobby shop and get some model railroad brickwork. Saves you messing with lime, clay, water and oven to bake it all in. Or make it out of sculpy and then just bake it.
  16. Nicely done, Sjors. Take your time, no big rush. Oh. wait a minute... any more pictures?
  17. Rick, We've been telling users that when they have issues (about IE11). Yes, there's a big difference in browsers. For example, if you hate ads, use Firefox and it's Adblock add-on. However, they all have their advantages and disadvantages and it's usually not the same ones for each. Having said all that... MS did release a pretty hefty update to IE11 but I haven't loaded up 11 or the updates to see if they work. I guess I'm getting lazy since I retired from IT..
  18. Rick, I think you seriously need to reconsider the IE11. Or try Google Chrome or Firefox. You can run IE and Chrome and Firefox if need be. There is a bug in IE11 that's causing this. Elsewhere, Jim H. (board owner) has said he is communicating with the board software team on a fix.
  19. Not a bad plan on the lighting, Nigel. You can get very small LED's (I think 3mm maybe smaller) and by putting in the proper resisitor they can get really dim. I put an external pot on mine and I can dim them down to almost nothing. The nice thing is, with LED's is no heat. There's also some "flicker" setups here in both the articles and in a couple of the sub-forums for doing this.
  20. Thanks for that... Since I don't speak French, I'm running some of this through Google Translator. There's only 1 ship's boat and it's 10,52 meters long (or 34.5 feet) as Licorne was a 3rd Rate ship. Right??? If so, that makes life a bit easier.
  21. Fantastic work on the boat, Grant. It's a pity you have to paint it as that will hide the great wood.
  22. It's probably all walnut. The catch is the supplier. Some will try to match from various billets, other will just grab what they can and fill the order. Even within a given log, there's color variations. So it boils down to the supplier.
  23. Robin, You're not late to the party.. and your input is appreciated. I'm suspecting that boat stowage varied, not only by navy but also even by size and the year of the ship. The British in particular were always looking for a better way and things (not just boat stowage) changed.
