Super nice work, Grant. They really do look a lot bigger than they are with all the crisp work you're doing.

Mike, Just go back to each post and hit "edit". You'll have to delete the pictures that are missing (thumbnails by "choose file") and also delete the associated photo name in the text. Then re-upload them.

It would appear that it's Doreltomin's turn to post... Spyglass has final say since it was his ship picture.

Uh-oh.. it is madness then? I thought it was normal and very Zen to talk to it. I think I need to see a Psycho.... er... Psychologist. On second thought, if this is insanity... I'm happily there.- 4,152 replies

Slog, That doesn't often work and the more intrepid players alter the pic... remove background, flags, etc.

Go for it... I'm curious what you'll come up with.

Looks good, Matti. The only concern I would have is the split opening at the top. The stress of the shrouds and lanyards might cause the deadeyes to pop loose.

Nice work on the furniture, Augie. I'm loving the colors and workmanship. Hmm.. brickwork... you can cheat.. goto the hobby shop and get some model railroad brickwork. Saves you messing with lime, clay, water and oven to bake it all in. Or make it out of sculpy and then just bake it.

Rick, We've been telling users that when they have issues (about IE11). Yes, there's a big difference in browsers. For example, if you hate ads, use Firefox and it's Adblock add-on. However, they all have their advantages and disadvantages and it's usually not the same ones for each. Having said all that... MS did release a pretty hefty update to IE11 but I haven't loaded up 11 or the updates to see if they work. I guess I'm getting lazy since I retired from IT..

Not a bad plan on the lighting, Nigel. You can get very small LED's (I think 3mm maybe smaller) and by putting in the proper resisitor they can get really dim. I put an external pot on mine and I can dim them down to almost nothing. The nice thing is, with LED's is no heat. There's also some "flicker" setups here in both the articles and in a couple of the sub-forums for doing this.

Fantastic work on the boat, Grant. It's a pity you have to paint it as that will hide the great wood.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
