  4. Lawrence good evening since i changed my job 2 years ago, i have no travelling, a slightly lower salary and lost my just doing 4 day week, it is also a lot more tiring, as a result my post count has dropped tremendously. So a month or so back i kind of stopped all PC gaming and vowed to spend time on my builds instead, i am back now full of ideas and dreams of future builds
  5. good evening everyone im happy with the way the two decks have turned out, the grain now shows with a matt clear varnish on top the superstructure was quite rough using red primer, so has now been attacked with a hairy stick and painted red ochre main deck fitted into the hull, sprayed red and brought into the man cave main cowl vents made still to be painted and tonight she looks like this

  8. Appologies for keep throwing my unrelated comments in, its unusual to see a build that im really intrested in.
  9. Over night the deck continued to dry fully, i know have a finish that i work on, im a happy boy I may go to pencil treenails over the next week or so, very little os the deck will be seen it gets quite cluttered on this one, lol not quite like a 1st rate
  10. although 1960 design our P&O boats had two stern tubes and i think i only ever saw beer stowed in them, when they were removed the TOT (torpedo operating tank was opened up and became the new stowage, lol the place was always running with condensation oil and in rough weather other things as well, the in board torp stowages were spare bunks
  11. Still drying and getting fainter, had to take a photo then put the decks under weights to stop any bowing
  12. Well i went for B which was also mine and the admiral choice, it looks ok, grey with a tint of green (im colour blind) , i will do again after treenailing if i go ahead with that
  13. i forget whether they used different torpedos for fwd and aft shots, im sure they tracked the front shots but after tubes were almost a kind of self defence (chance in a million)
  14. Been quite busy on the build recently so will update possibly tomorrow night any have any thoughts on deck weathering, thes are the washes i have availble to myself also have oils and acrylics, but dont know how to use them yet
  15. and even if i was my Victory is not going to sell more than its kit price
  16. Not quite sure where your question is leading, are you building to sell ?
  17. sorry with my abrupt answer, many people think that a well made model will go for large amounts of money, but it is rarely the case, unless commission built, there is alwaays a i in a 1000000 chance that something on the market that someone is looking for but sadly not the one you are referring to
  18. lol its just like doing BSQ training all over again, knowing how everything works and where all the main valves and isolation switches are
