  1. I have surely not payed enough attention to this girl, but in the background changes and movement forward has occured. One area is the cabin furniture, the skylight gave me some headache about centering. Then I thought about tape, this way I could get the skylight perfect in all locations.
  2. Bienvenue Docker, Warm welcome to ModelShipWorld. You have found one of the largest model ship forums in the world. Here you are not a number, here you have name. We all are looking forward to see what you are bringing us. Do you have any questions? Of course you will; and that is why we are here, to help you and to guide you. And hopefully you have great ideas to share with us.
  3. Ian, that a nice start of the rigging. You are getting close to an end.
  4. Juhu, I have to applaud you, your model and building technique is crisp and clean. Regarding the sails, i.e silkspan is a good option when it comes to furled sails. Experiment with this material; as adding layers can create problems and unrealistic shape, single layer will look better but is harder to put into place as it can or will tear easily. I have found a very thin silk (not silk span) at a fabric store called JoAnns here in the USA, that I will use on my Bluenose and America. But again very nice and sharp build you have done!
  5. Allan, Thanks for the input. So what is the difference between this Mainstay unit and Amacos that is three times more expensive and only goes to 300° https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-4-Slice-Black-Toaster-Oven-with-Dishwasher-Safe-Rack-Pan-3-Piece/110482692 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Amaco-Polymer-Clay-and-Craft-Oven/12347699 Maybe Chuck has a thought to add.
  6. I am to do more trials rope making tomorrow. I find it easy to do but hard to master after only a couple of tries. Am to buy a small counter top oven/roaster for my workshop intended only for rope. This in order to keep the Admiral happy.😉
  7. Wish I had those skills! Truly amazing and very beautiful.
  8. Bill, according to wikipedia (which can be wrong too), The future Lord Nelson served as Agamemnon's captain from January 1793 for 3 years and 3 months, during which time she saw considerable service in the Mediterranean.
  9. Jonathan, I will certainly pay attention to the pitfalls you are mentioning when it's time for me to get going with my SF. Yours look real good.
  10. Michael, I am impressed. Strauss, Mozart or Handel doesn't matter or any other of composer of that classical era. Back in 2009 a small (very small) group of the choral I sang with, went to New York to sing Mozart Reqium at Charnegie Hall under direction of John Rutter. However, I do think we have a lot of hidden talents within our group.
  11. HEIC is a singular picture format for Apple. This format has to be converted in order to be uploaded to an universal unit. Any phone can save pictures as a jpg. This can be set within your phone. Change the saving setting to jpg and you will be okay. Good luck
  12. Bolin, that looks real good. And yes,it is real hard to get the planks 100% perfect without any gaps.
  13. James, from third person in the Pacific North-West of USA (me) a Warm Welcome to MSW! Regarding Bluenose, go with the Model shipway kit, the instructions are better.... unless the IKEA style of instructions is preferred, which is multi-lingual.😄
  14. Something that caught my attention was the poster on the wall. The Rolling Stones played in Lisbon 2014.
  15. Bolin, How do you like HobbyZone modular combination? Looking like you got off with a good start. Was the ship a christmas gift?
  16. Buy high quality tools, more expensive but will save you from troubles in the future. Mark, are you saying buying tools are addicting? Just because during last year I bought the Byrnes disc-sander and table-saw? lol
  17. Using a tripod with cable release is very important if you want to create a steady picture. Having the lights at the same setting and placing even more important. Something I learned to be very helpful. This along with press release or timer. Never touch the camera trigger to shoot your picture! It will be become blurry!
