She looks great Bruce. I'm reading the book Valliant Ambition by Nathaniel Philbrook right now and it talks about the gunboats on Lake Champlain and Lake George and goes into pretty good detail. Reading the book had me thinking about building the Philadelphia and now that I am watching your build come together I plan to order the kit.

I have been trying to keep up with everybody's builds but I have not worked on mine for quite some time. Between family issues and getting my guitar done the shipyard has been neglected. Well not any more. I'm back at my Glad Tidings and have been working on the deck. It's going pretty smoothly and is looking ok. I painted the hull green but I think I have changed my mind and will go with the yellow hull like the original. The other builds I have seen sure look nice in yellow. I should be spending some good time at the workbench and will do my best to keep my log up to date.

I agree with the higher water line. It does look better to the eye. The green patina looks great too. I hope when I get to the point of plating a hull I can replicate that look. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress and learning from it.

Welcome to MSW. It will be a fun project. With any luck it will spark an interest in the hobby. You might find it a relaxing and rewarding pursuit.
